Job Description

Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Not Applicable/None : Utilities Manager Abu Dhabi, UAE Responsibilities:
  • Undertake investigations, designs, calculations, reports, drawings, specifications and bills of quantities for Infrastructure Utilities.
  • Develop designs from concept through the detailed design process and then onto final Authority approvals.
  • Provides for compliance with items such as local Authority specifications and standards, international standards and specifications, tolerances, safety factors and requirements of client.
  • Coordinate the delivery of design outputs including the necessary quality assurance checking.
  • Liaise with Authorities, the Client, Contractors, Consultants and other members of the wider organization.
  • Review and manage Construction activities to ensure compliance with designs, drawings and specifications.
  • Review and approve documentation, such as shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, etc as required.
  • Report to the Construction Manager on deliverables.
  • Work independently within a strong team environment.
  • Ability to produce quality outcomes to the required time frames.
  • Coordinates with Engineers and other disciplines to ensure quality of design and work executed.
  • Reviews supplier data as required. Reads supplier/manufacturer drawings.
  • Undertakes necessary training as required.
  • Completes additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Mechanical or Civil Engineer with 15+ years of experience.
  • Strong wet utilities experience including potable water, sewerage, irrigation, stormwater and district cooling.
  • Advantageous to have dry utilities experience including MV and LV power systems, telecoms and street lighting.
  • Experience with pumping systems and treatment plants.
  • Experience dealing with Authorities, the Client, Contractors, Consultants.
  • Very good spoken and written English. The ability to communicate effectively in Arabic would be favorable.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft office, specifically excel and word.
  • Previous knowledge and use of document management systems.
