Health, Safety, Quality & Environment (HSEQ):

Proactive, honest, and personally responsive approach to HSEQ

Operate all equipment within safe working parameters and conditions to always protect the plant and personnel.

Must be aware of and adhere to HSEQ precautions in plant area and other applicable areas.

Maintain high personal standards of safety and housekeeping

Competent and decisive action to UFR emergency conditions.

Planning

Roll, Guide and TCTR requirements and data are correct for the rolling schedule

Delay strategies for planned stoppages \xe2\x80\x93 e.g., roll changes and maintenance periods

Training opportunities

Operational Management:

Manage the UFR operational plant to ensure consistent product tolerances, delivery, and defect free product to match customer requirements. Interpret and utilise profile gauge / dimensional measurements for optimal gap setting / drafting profiles.

Monitor and manage the Saws Blade, UFR Roll Change & Datum Set sequences

Monitor and manage the blade cooling and change strategies to ensure optimal blade life

Manage the mill set-up, delivery and rolling practices to ensure a cobble free operation

Pace the UFR mill and communicate upstream and downstream to ensure optimal operating conditions.

Monitor and manage the mill set-up, roll-wear, design, and gap parameters to ensure defect free product.

Manage the roll coolant and delays strategies to ensure optimal roll life

Monitor and manage the weight per metre strategies to ensure maximum yield

Communication of delays to appropriate personnel

Monitor & ensure accurate tracking of the pieces through the UFR to the Cooling Bank

Perform planned and unplanned stoppages tasks as required.

Trouble Shooting:

Able to determine root cause of poor UFR operation and dimensional, roll designs and schedules through analytical interpretation of UFR screens, data, and liaison with others.

Maintenance Planning:

Accurate and timely reporting and communication of insights to the Engineering teams

Policies & Procedures:

Proactive Approach to refining the applicable policies, procedures, systems, and activities.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

Issuing of WP and monitoring and completing cleaning duties during down periods and stoppages.

- Thorough knowledge about functions of all areas of a long product mill roll shop activities.

- Product specifications and quality requirements in high-speed wire rod and bar mills

- Functions and activities of production team in long product mills

- Knowledge about operation and maintenance of high-speed block mill problem solving

- Basic computer skills. Computer literate with Word Processing and Spreadsheet experience

- Ability to study and understand engineering drawings.

- Thorough knowledge on Fast moving tracking and dispatch/warehouse systems,

- Basic knowledge on banks and piler operation and optimisation,

- Good knowledge on mill automation,

- Basic knowledge on computer operation.

- Good knowledge of sections rolling mills

- Good command of English

Minimum Education Qualifications (Must Haves)

- Industrial Diploma.

Any preferred professional training (Nice to have)

- Hazard and Safety Awareness

- Basic Roll Design and Scheduling

- Report Writing

Professional Experience (Must haves)

- 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience.
