Job Description

General Description of Role and Responsibilities: Collect and analyze data related to land use, demographics, transportation, infrastructure, and environmental factors to inform planning decisions. Collaborate with local government officials, community members, developers, and other stakeholders to understand their needs, concerns, and goals. Create comprehensive urban and regional plans that address zoning, transportation, housing, environmental preservation, and economic development. Evaluate and recommend appropriate land uses, including residential, commercial, industrial, and recreational areas. Assess the environmental impact of development projects and propose mitigation strategies to ensure sustainable practices. Design transportation systems and infrastructure to support the efficient movement of people and goods within the region. Develop plans for revitalizing urban neighbourhoods and downtown areas, promoting economic growth and social well-being. Formulate and recommend policies, ordinances, and regulations that guide development and ensure adherence to community goals. Use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other technology tools to create maps, models, and simulations that aid in planning and decision-making. Present plans and proposals to government bodies, community groups, and the general public, and gather feedback for plan adjustments. Continuously monitor and evaluate the implementation of plans and policies to measure their effectiveness and adapt as needed. Promote sustainability, resilience, and smart growth principles to minimize environmental impacts and enhance quality of life. Perform other duties as assigned by the client and the line manager. This role reports to the program manager. Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

Bachelors degree in civil engineering, Construction Management or equivalent. A postgraduate degree in Engineering or an MBA will be considered a plus. At least 10+ years of experience working on large-scale green field infrastructure development projects. Ideally, a combination of Development experience and more traditional PMO experience. PMP, PMI, CIOB or equivalent certification is strongly preferred. Strong track record in delivering projects in a fast-moving and challenging environment. Proven experience in building & infrastructure and leading high-performing teams. Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word. Excellent command of written and spoken English.
