Job Description

1. Supervise the upholstery team (cutting, stitching, stapling) to ensure timely and high-quality completion of upholstered wooden furniture.

2. Organize daily work schedules based on production plans and allocate tasks accordingly. 3. Oversee fabric and leather cutting, ensuring measurements match wooden frame specifications.

4. Monitor stitching quality and alignment for seat covers, cushions, and backrests.

5. Supervise stapling and fitting of upholstery materials onto wooden frames with precision.

6. Perform re-upholstery tasks for leather and fabric-covered wooden furniture as per client or repair requests.

7. Inspect finished upholstered items to ensure alignment, firmness, and finishing meet quality standards.

8. Coordinate with carpentry and finishing departments to ensure smooth handover and alignment between wooden structure and upholstery.

9. Train new joiners and support skill development of upholstery workers to improve craftsmanship.

10. Ensure safe use of upholstery tools (e.g., staple guns, sewing machines, cutting knives) and enforce health and safety regulations.

11. Maintain inventory of upholstery materials (fabric, foam, leather, accessories) and report shortages in advance.

12. Suggest process improvements and assist in prototyping new furniture designs when required.

13. Submit progress reports and flag any production delays, quality issues, or material concerns.

14. Perform any other relevant duties assigned by the Production Manager or Factory Supervisor.
