Maintenance Manager Grade: GG12 Location: Taif, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. The Job Holder is responsible for controlling and managing personnel and resources pertinent to Forward Maintenance activities in support of the RSAF Typhoon Flying programme and generate aircraft to achieve the contracted Operational Reday Rates in accordance with best industry practice, BAE Systems procedures, the Maintenance Organisation Exposition and the RSAF Regulatory Framework JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES The overall Safety, Welfare and discipline of all assigned Prime Contractor personnel in conjunction with the Management and Supervisory Team. Manages the release of aircraft: From the maintenance organisation and ensures the correctness of the certificate of maintenance. Implementation of the Safety, Health and Environmental program. Implementation of safety tours within the AGF. Implementation and adherence to the Quality Management System. Implementation and compliance with the company Business Management System. Compliance with the Maintenance Organisation Exposition. Compliance with the RSAF Regulatory Framework. Husbandry across Forward Maintenance. Adherence to the Code of Conduct and Responsible Business Conduct. Adherence to the correct use of approved data. Adherence to the correct use of ESS. Mandated training requirements for all assigned personnel. Completion of ePDRs for direct reports and review of all ePDRs for assigned personnel as necessary. Completion of all QA and Higher HQ technical reports. Motivation of all assigned personnel. Agree the weekly and monthly flying programme with Operations. Implementation of self audits within Forward maintenance to identify any shortfalls in maintenance practices. Adherence to the use and submission of Technical Requests (TR's) and Technical Publication Review Forms (TPRFs). Adherence to the FOD control program. Hold a Letter of Delegation (Form 4). Delegation of engineering authority and empowerment of personnel to carry out their duties effectively in order to meet the aims of Forward Maintenance. Manage aircraft mobility and personnel to support deployments and detachments. Adherence to the RSAF Cannibalisation policy. Investigating Flight and Ground Safety incidents including follow up reports. Ensuring any identified hazards are entered on the hazard database via the monthly Hazard Review Management Meeting. Ensuring assigned staff are Suitably Qualified Experienced Personnel and are empowered to undertake their roles and responsibilities. Ensuring any mandated requirements are undertaken (30 day ESS QA check etc). Undertake strategic reviews of Forward maintenance and challenge current practices to identify potential areas for improvement and efficiency utilising Continuous Improvement. RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Essential Have extensive proven post qualification experience supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training. Have extensive experience in a relevant management role. Excellent leadership management skills and proven ability to supervise all levels of engineering personnel. Extensive Air Sector company / industry knowledge (extensive proven experience in a senior position) Degree qualified or equivalent in an Aircraft Maintenance discipline i.e. (Successful completion of a National civilian / military equivalent recognised aircraft maintenance traineeship / apprenticeship). OR EASA Category B1; B2 or C Licenced Engineer, with military add on training applicable to trade (Or a military equivalent). National Aircraft Maintenance Qualifications as agreed by the Directorate. This includes, but is not limited to: Royal Saudi Air Force Aircraft Maintenance Qualifications (Skill Level 7) UK Royal Air Force Aircraft Maintenance Qualifications Other Military Aircraft Maintenance Qualifications as agreed by the directorate EASA (Part 66) Aircraft Maintenance Qualifications (Cat A,B, or C) or GACA equivalent. BAE Systems Saudi Arabia Trained Aircraft Maintenance Personnel (SNTTP/ TSNTTP/FLMP). Applicants holding other nationally awarded Aircraft Maintenance Qualifications should consult the Directorate For non-native English speakers, English Language proficiency equivalent to (IELTS 4.5) Desirable Thorough understanding of company processes and procedures Broad aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge. Experienced - Certifying Technician and extensive BAE Systems supervisory experience within the area of definition. RECRUITMENT Experience serving on an operational military flying unit. Thorough working knowledge of Forward maintenance activities associated with a Third or Fourth Generation military fast jet aircraft. Experience of working in the aviation industry in a Gulf Coast Country preferred. The ability to act upon his own initiative within the scope of his job. A conscientious approach to work and meticulous attention to detail is also required. Considerable aerospace and defence company/industry knowledge. A track record of meeting strict deadlines without compromising standards and quality.
