Typhoon AGE Mechanical Supervisor Grade: 7 Location: Taif, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. The Job Holder is responsible for controlling and supervising personnel and resources pertinent to AGE activities in support of the RSAF Typhoon maintenance policy in accordance with the relevant publications and the BAE Systems Maintenance Organisation Exposition JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Control and supervision of all engineering and maintenance activities within the scope of the associated shop. Ensuring all maintenance tasks are undertaken in accordance with company/RSAF procedures and processes. Ensure that all Electronic data systems are utilized correctly within process and adhere to operating procedures. Ensuring that all personnel engaged in activities in areas under their control follow the correct engineering practices, observe safety precautions and that as far as is reasonably practicable no one is exposed to any unnecessary or uncontrolled risk. Ensuring that all personnel employed in the bays are correctly trained and authorized for the task and that AUTHS are raised and actioned where necessary. Ensuring good husbandry practices are implemented throughout all areas of responsibility. Ensure all quality aspects of the tasks are complied with and all tasks are competed to the highest standard. Ensure all tasks are undertaken in the specified timescales to support operational requirements. Ensuring all equipment is maintained in a serviceable condition. Ensuring scheduled maintenance of AGE is carried out and that replacement items are available when required and, controlling and checking AGE holdings. Continued provision of assets for operations and reporting any shortfalls to the Depth Support Manager via The Principal Engineer. The display and observance of all fire orders, ensuring that all fire equipment used within the bay is serviceable and correctly maintained at the required intervals. Maintaining an anti-FOD surveillance of all AGE, bringing to the notice of the Base FOD Prevention Officer any actual or potential FOD hazards on, or in the equipment, Ensuring that any not in use AGE is parked or placed in designated areas. RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Essential Must be educated to HNC level or a recognised equivalent Mechanical Qualification or have relevant experience supported by formal, recorded workplace applied related training. A thorough knowledge of Typhoon(preferred) or Aerospace Ground Equipment Mechanical systems essential Desirable Broad aerospace and defence company/industry knowledge. An understanding of RAF and /or RSAF engineering operating procedures. RECRUITMENT The job holder should have the following background: Ex-military with experience serving on an operational military flying unit. Must have attained Supervisor/JNCO level working in a military aircraft maintenance environment. Thorough working knowledge of the AGE activities associated with Third/Fourth Generation military fast jet aircraft. Experience of working in the aviation industry in a Gulf Coast Country preferred. The ability to act upon their own initiative within the scope of their job. A conscientious approach to work and meticulous attention to detail is also required.
