What you'll do:
As Treasury Controller - Financing, you will play a crucial role in shaping the financial landscape of the organisation by managing a sophisticated financing facility that supports key commercial projects. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close interaction with lenders from diverse backgrounds, ensuring every transaction is meticulously executed while upholding stringent compliance standards. You will be responsible for preparing comprehensive reports that inform senior leadership decisions, supporting liquidity planning efforts that underpin business continuity, and maintaining advanced treasury systems designed for accuracy and security. Your expertise in both conventional and Islamic finance will be essential as you navigate complex financial structures and hedging strategies. By developing operational plans aligned with broader business goals and actively participating in risk management initiatives, you will help drive sustainable growth while fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the finance team.
  • Oversee the complete lifecycle of a large-scale financing facility involving more than 20 lenders, ensuring all transactions are executed accurately and on time in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary liaison for all lender communications, fostering dependable relationships and maintaining transparent dialogue to support ongoing financing activities.
  • Prepare and submit detailed periodic reports including utilisation summaries, covenant compliance certificates, and financial statements to meet regulatory and stakeholder requirements.
  • Support liquidity planning and cash flow forecasting processes to guarantee adequate funding levels and efficient utilisation of available facilities.
  • Maintain robust treasury systems and implement internal controls that uphold accuracy, security, compliance, and audit readiness across all treasury operations.
  • Demonstrate deep experience in structuring, executing, and managing Sharia-compliant financing solutions as well as conventional instruments.
  • Manage execution and oversight of hedging instruments, including those tailored for Sharia-compliant structures to mitigate financial risks effectively.
  • Develop consistent operational plans aligned with divisional objectives while translating these into actionable performance targets for the department.
  • Monitor departmental budgets closely by tracking expenditures against approved allocations; investigate variances to ensure effective cost control and performance optimisation.
  • Contribute to risk management initiatives by identifying domain-specific risks within treasury operations and implementing measures to manage or mitigate them.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; advanced degrees or certifications such as ACCA, CPA, ACA, CFA (or equivalent) are highly desirable.
  • At least 12 years' proven experience in finance roles with substantial exposure to budgeting, asset management, and treasury functions within the oil & gas or infrastructure sectors.
  • Comprehensive understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Accounting Standards (IAS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and company-specific financial policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex financing facilities involving multiple lenders across both conventional and Islamic tranches.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Sharia-compliant financing solutions including structuring, execution, monitoring covenants, drawdowns, repayments, and reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in managing hedging instruments for both conventional and Islamic finance products to effectively mitigate risk exposure.
  • Strong background in developing departmental budgets aligned with divisional objectives while monitoring expenditures for optimal cost control.
  • Experience designing and implementing robust treasury systems along with internal controls that ensure compliance with international standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to build dependable relationships with internal teams as well as external stakeholders such as banks, auditors, regulators, shareholders, partners, and government entities.
