Transport/Fleet Manager

To ensure success in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following responsibilities and qualifications:
Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate cost estimates for transport and fleet operations including vehicle procurement, maintenance, fuel, labor, and third-party service costs.
Review and interpret transport requirements, fleet performance data, and operational schedules for facilities management-related logistics.
Work closely with operations managers, logistics coordinators, and procurement teams to gather relevant data for budgeting and planning.
Conduct site visits and inspections to understand transportation routes, assess vehicle conditions, and optimize fleet deployment.
Analyze vehicle usage reports and performance metrics to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with FM transport needs.
Develop and maintain standardized cost databases for frequently used vehicle parts, services, and logistics providers within the FM/fleet domain.
Participate in procurement and tendering processes including vendor selection, bid evaluation, contract preparation, and negotiation.
Liaise with vehicle suppliers, maintenance service providers, and fuel vendors to obtain accurate pricing and validate operational budgets.
Evaluate cost variations and provide cost analysis reports for ongoing and completed transport-related projects.
Assist in route optimization, fuel-saving initiatives, and fleet lifecycle planning without compromising service quality or safety standards.
Ensure all transport operations comply with company policies, project requirements, and relevant traffic and safety regulations.
Keep updated with current vehicle market prices, regulatory changes, and innovations in fleet management technologies and practices.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in transport or fleet management, specifically within Facilities Management or logistics operations.
Strong technical background in vehicle operations, maintenance planning, and logistics coordination.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Familiarity with fleet management software or ERP systems relevant to FM/logistics operations is a plus.
Excellent numerical, analytical, and logistical interpretation skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision under time constraints.
Capable of managing multiple fleet tasks and requests simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Professional demeanor and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Additional certifications in transport management, logistics, or fleet operations are an added advantage.
