Job Purpose:

The Translator will be responsible for accurately translating written materials from German to English, ensuring the meaning, tone, and style are preserved. This role requires strong linguistic skills, cultural understanding, and attention to detail to produce high-quality translations for various documents such as technical manuals, marketing materials, legal texts, and communications.

Key Responsibilities:

Translate documents, manuals, reports, marketing content, websites, and other materials from German to English with high accuracy and clarity. Ensure translations maintain the original meaning, tone, and context. Proofread and edit translations for grammar, punctuation, style, and terminology consistency. Collaborate with subject matter experts to clarify technical terms and context when necessary. Maintain translation glossaries and databases to ensure consistency across projects. Meet project deadlines and manage multiple translation assignments simultaneously. Assist in localization projects and adapt translations for target audiences and regions. Stay updated on linguistic trends, translation tools, and best practices.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, German Studies, English, or related field. Proven experience (2+ years) translating from German to English in a professional setting. Excellent command of both German and English languages, including grammar, idioms, and cultural nuances. Familiarity with translation software (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ) is a plus. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards. Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects.
