General Summary

As assigned by the Category Management Head, place purchase orders and supply demands to deliver the Businesses day to day requirements in line with agreed service levels.

Develop proactive internal relationships and provide a 'help-desk' service to your internal customer groups. Ensure the delivery of constant data, information and an excellent record of on-time delivery and quality to the Category Management Head and internal Customer.

Liaise with other procurement functions to deliver a constant flow of data and information leading to a continuous improvement in your individual, and Team, Key Performance Indicators.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As assigned by the Category Management Head effectively source and deliver the day to day business requirements based on agreed service levels.

Improve ESI's cost and quality position by continuously challenging the supply markets and seeking improved solutions

Continuously identify ways to improve what ESI buys and how we buy it

Effectively manage your customers' expectations, and those of the Category Head relating to PR to PO turnaround times, delivery times, costs and quality. Take responsibility to ensure the KPIs set in this regard are met and surpassed

Ensure the Customer understanding of, compliance with and utilisation of, sourcing processes and of existing contractual arrangements.

Liaise with the relevant functions relating to all delivery and expediting issues. Ensure that Head is kept proactively informed of impending or potential supply issues

As directed by Category Management Head review all current orders, identify, and inform him regarding potential late deliveries. Provide a weekly report to Category Management Head regarding on-time-delivery performance.

Capture day to day supplier performance and report weekly. Identify delivery issues with an immediate problematic impact to the customer and the business and escalate to Category Management Head. Implement 'fixes' as directed by him/her.

Identify areas of supply requiring support or secondary arrangements and report to Category Management Head.

Proactively identify and report opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes.

As directed by Category Management Head, contribute to the proactive, weekly management and delivery of the forward planning/scheduling of business requirements.

As required by Category Management Head, provide relevant Procurement performance data and reporting.

Ensure that you are proactively aware of prevailing and changing supply market conditions which affect your area of responsibility.

Ensure that all activities of the Section are carried out in accordance with both the Company's Procurement and safety policies and procedures.

Minimum Education Qualification (Education Degree) Bacheloer in Business / Management or Engineering

Any preferred professional training

Advanced business degree [e.g. MBA] Recognized post qualification courses related to Strategic Procurement (e.g. CIPS)

Professional Experience (Must haves)

2+ years' purchasing experience Good spoken and written English Good knowledge of computer applications. Good communication, interpersonal, team working and problem solving skills, ability to thrive in a multi-cultural environment.

Previous Experience/exposure Recommendations

Knowledge of negotiation contract and commercial supply data. Knowledge of modern procurement techniques and approaches
