Job Description

. Ability to review, modify, approve and design traffic studies projects; parking demand studies, parking turnover rates, access design, traffic impact studies, roundabout analysis, intelligent transportation system, signal warrant analysis, traffic signal design, coordinate signal systems, accident analysis, pedestrian, traffic circulation evaluation, intersections modeling and assessment. . Civil Engineering with four (4) years of experience in field of Traffic Engineering activities . Design and manages traffic signal projects and related improvement projects including lighting, communication, hardware and software components. . Develop and review signal timing and controller operations of traffic signals for safe and efficient traffic flow. . Develops and reviews traffic engineering/transportation management project design, requirements, plans, documents, standards, calculations, and technical and budget estimates as directed; defines issues and resolves conflicts; assures effective communications and coordination with internal and external clients . Investigates traffic signals complaints to identify problems, make recommendations regarding the need and placement of traffic control devices and make necessary corrections. . Prepares reports, and analyzes a variety of traffic engineering/transportation management engineering data to determine requirements to meet engineering objectives. . Reviews and approves traffic signals, signing and pavement markings works of contractors on various projects . Researches traffic engineering records and methods and recommend solutions. . Coordinates the implementation of traffic plans in the field by acting as liaison between contractors, construction and traffic personnel and inspecting contractor's work involving construction projects. . Respond to questions and inquiries regarding wide range of traffic engineering topics and issues; record requests and prepare work orders and other documents as appropriate. . Updates and maintains the transportation information system crash database so crash reports are correct and complete and independently runs complex reports . Has a knowledge of maintenance and operation of traffic signals to ensure efficient signal operation. . Oversees complex and high profile traffic engineering/transportation management projects and programs; investigates special requests for information, and makes recommendations on procedures and project activities . May act in a lead capacity to department support staff and junior technicians in providing training, coaching tuitions. . Performs other duties as assigned or required.
