The Tile Mason is responsible for laying and setting tiles, marble, granite, or other similar materials on floors, walls, and other surfaces. The role involves surface preparation, cutting, aligning, and finishing tiles to meet design specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Measure and mark surfaces to be tiled and plan tile layout.
Cut, shape, and smooth tiles to fit around obstacles and into specified areas.
Mix, apply, and spread adhesives, cement, or mortar on surfaces for tile installation.
Lay tiles and ensure proper alignment, spacing, and leveling.
Grout joints between tiles and clean surfaces to achieve a polished finish.
Repair or replace damaged tiles when required.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and project requirements.
Maintain tools, materials, and equipment in good condition.
Qualifications & Skills:
Proven experience as a Tile Mason or in a similar role.
Knowledge of different types of tiles, adhesives, and grouting techniques.
Ability to read and interpret measurements and technical drawings.
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Physical stamina and ability to work on various surfaces (floors, walls, ceilings).
Familiarity with workplace safety guidelines.
Work Environment:
Construction sites, residential, commercial, and renovation projects.
May require working overtime or during weekends to meet project deadlines.
