We are looking for a Therapeutic Area Medical Head to join our Gulf Cluster.
Major accountabilities of this role are as defined below:

We are looking for a Therapeutic Area Medical Head to join our Gulf Cluster.
Major accountabilities of this role are as defined below:
Drug Development/Clinical Research Support:
- Provide strong scientific input on the global CDPs being the medical expert in the CPO
- Provide medical expertise/advise for the GCO teams: - Lead and/or perform protocol, country and site feasibility
- Provide protocol, Risk management plan & disease training as appropriate at Investigator\xe2\x80\x99s Meetings or scientific forums or internally.
- Review and try to resolve local medical issues / questions that arise during the entire course of the trial \xe2\x80\x93 if necessary transferring issues to global teams.
- Support the regional/global teams on the local level.
- Develop, review and approve local studies\xe2\x80\x99 documents.
Leadership & Management:
- Responsible for the management and coaching of MAs and MSLs .
- Provide ongoing assessment of the MAs\xe2\x80\x99 competencies and skills, effectiveness and progress toward clear objectives.
- Responsible for developing the medical & scientific communication strategy to the MEs.
- Responsible for the performance management, evaluation process, and organizational talent review process for MAs/MSLs.
- Ensure implementation of all Novartis policies/ processes within the team.
- Assessment of the needs and implementation of annual development plans.
Resource Allocation:
- Recruit, hire and on-board a high performing team of MAs/MSLs within the responsible TAs.
- Optimize resources within assigned team priorities.
- Ensure continuous assessment & application of effective technology to enhance productivity of the team.
Strategic Alignment and planning:
- Develop the annual medical objectives/priorities for the assigned TAs.
- Responsible to develop the scientific part of the IPS and follow up on execution.
- Represent the medical department in cross functional teams for strategic planning/alignment.
Global/regional Medical Affairs Alignment:
- Promote good communication and teamwork between the local, Regional & global medical affairs teams.
Internal/External scientific Support:
- Build strong network with MEs across Gulf Cluster, gaining insights on Novartis medical department position among all MNCs.
- Provide support to execute the annual scientific communications & publication plans.
- Work closely with the medical team for high quality implementation and execution of medical plans and cross functional collaboration.

Minimum requirements
Requirements:
- Higher medical qualification or Doctoral degree preferred (PharmD, PhD, MD)
- Strong Clinical Research background and knowledge of all related guidelines and regulations.
- Solid understanding of business and market
- High level of collaboration and interpersonal communication skills.
- Scientific analytical skills and demonstrated clinical credibility.
- Strategic and critical thinking
