Job Title:

Testing & Commissioning (T&C) Engineer - Mechanical

Qualification:

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Job Summary:

The Testing & Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for conducting, supervising, and documenting all testing, balancing, and commissioning activities related to HVAC systems in accordance with project specifications and industry standards. The role requires solid understanding of air and water balancing principles, system hydraulics, and mechanical equipment performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform

air balancing

of ventilation systems, AHUs, FAHUs, FCUs, and exhaust systems. Conduct

water balancing

for chilled water networks, including primary, secondary, and tertiary circuits. Apply

basic pump and fan laws

to verify system performance and troubleshoot deviations. Test and commission HVAC equipment such as pumps, fans, AHUs, FCUs, valves, VAVs, VRF/VRV systems, etc. Verify installation quality, equipment rotation, electrical connections, and control integrations. Conduct performance testing for pumps, fans, heat exchangers, coils, and chillers (if applicable). Ensure proper operation of

control valves, balancing valves, motorized valves, PICVs, DP controllers

, and other hydraulic components. Review and understand mechanical drawings, schematics, control diagrams, and commissioning plans. Prepare

T&C reports

, checklists, readings, and maintain accurate documentation. Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and site teams to ensure smooth testing and commissioning activities. Identify system issues, propose corrective actions, and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.

Required Skills & Competencies:

Good knowledge of

HVAC systems

, chilled water systems, ventilation systems, and thermal comfort principles. Strong understanding of

hydraulics

, including flow, pressure, head loss, and balancing techniques. Familiarity with

different types of valves

(balancing valves, gate, globe, butterfly, PICV, motorized valves, etc.). Ability to use T&C instruments such as

manometers, flow hoods, anemometers, DP meters, ultrasonic flow meters

, etc. Knowledge of

basic pump and fan equations

(Affinity Laws). Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documents. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Good communication and reporting ability. Ability to work independently and within a project team.

Experience:

2-5 years of experience in Testing & Commissioning of HVAC systems (can be modified as needed).

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
