Temporary Mechanical Inspector

Job Summary:

The Temporary Mechanical Inspector will be responsible for inspecting, monitoring, and ensuring that mechanical works on site comply with project specifications, codes, standards, and quality requirements. This role is temporary/contractual, typically for the duration of a specific project or until a permanent inspector is appointed.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct inspections of mechanical installations, including HVAC systems, piping, pumps, valves, fire-fighting systems, and other mechanical equipment. Verify that all works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and international standards (e.g., ASME, ASTM, ISO). Monitor quality control processes and ensure compliance with project QA/QC plans. Prepare daily inspection reports, site observations, and non-conformance reports (NCRs) for submission to the QA/QC Engineer or Project Manager. Coordinate with contractors and engineers to resolve technical issues. Check materials and equipment for compliance with project specifications before installation. Witness mechanical tests and commissioning activities as required. Ensure proper documentation, including inspection checklists, certificates, and test reports. Support safety procedures and maintain compliance with site HSE policies.

Qualifications & Experience:

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Proven experience as a Mechanical Inspector in construction projects, preferably in the UAE or GCC region. Knowledge of mechanical systems installation, testing, and commissioning. Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, standards, and documentation. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications. Strong communication and reporting skills. Proficiency in MS Office and inspection software is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

Immediate availability for temporary assignment. UAE driving license may be required (depending on site). Previous experience in similar project type (commercial, residential, or industrial) preferred.
