are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Railway

Telecommunication Systems Maintenance Supervisor

to oversee and manage the maintenance, corrective works, and continuous improvement of railway telecom systems. This includes GSM-R, fiber optic networks, IP-based communication, CCTV systems, and access control infrastructure across the railway network. The successful candidate will supervise a team of telecom technicians, ensuring 24/7 operational support and technical excellence across all systems Located Abu Dhabi Region, UAE.

Key Responsibilities



Supervise and coordinate day-to-day operations of the telecom team. Oversee preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, fault investigation, and repairs on: + GSM-R telecom systems (voice/data communication for rail operations)
+ Fiber optic backbones and patching infrastructure
+ IP networking equipment (switches, WIFI)
+ CCTV and surveillance systems
+ Access control systems (ACS, badge readers, turnstiles, barriers)
Ensure compliance with railway safety and telecom standards. Manage shift rosters to ensure 24/7 support coverage and incident response. Conduct root cause analysis of recurring issues and propose long-term solutions. Lead innovation and improvement works, including system upgrades and new technology integration. Prepare reports on system performance, incident response, and team productivity. Maintain accurate records of maintenance logs, configurations, and assets. Act as point of escalation for complex technical issues. Promote safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE policies.

Desired Skills and Knowledge



Technical Expertise



Strong knowledge of GSM-R systems and protocols. Hands-on experience with fiber optic splicing, OTDR testing, and link troubleshooting. Proficient in IP networking - routing, switching, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, VPNs. Experience in configuring and maintaining security systems - CCTV (IP & analog), NVRs, and video analytics. Familiarity with access control systems - integration, badge access, biometric systems. Understanding of railway telecom standards and safety procedures.

Leadership & Operational Skills



Proven experience managing technical teams and shift schedules. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills under pressure. Ability to prioritize and multitask in a live operational environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Capability to lead and mentor junior technicians and trainees.

Tools & Systems



Familiarity with telecom management systems (e.g M200, MAE. U200. Esight). Proficiency in using diagnostic tools: OTDRs, spectrum analyzers, IP scanners, multimeters, etc. Experience with documentation and ticketing tools (Excel, SharePoint, Remedy, etc.).

Qualifications



Diploma or Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, IT, or related field. Minimum 5 years experience in railway or critical infrastructure telecom systems. At least 2 years in a supervisory or team-lead role. Valid certifications in fiber optics, Cisco networking (CCNA/CCNP), or IP CCTV are desirable. Rail Safety Certification (PTS or equivalent) preferred.

Shift & Work Requirements



Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Availability for on-call support as required. Physically fit and able to work on trackside infrastructure if needed. Must hold a valid driver's license.
