KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ? Originates new ideas and promotes innovative ideas generated by others - both internally and externally. ? Leads and manages innovation projects, from ideation to implementation, and ensures they are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. ? Focuses on delivering the key principles behind innovation, creating networks, harnessing idea development, and building/managing an effective, transparent, and efficient innovation process. ? Identifies innovation opportunities and presents new ideas and approaches to stakeholders. ? Facilitates cross-functional collaboration and communication to promote innovation and idea generation. ? Supports in assessing the technological viability, and commercialization of the research and innovation proposed/developed within the Center and advises accordingly. ? Participates in the development and execution of the Center-wide technology and innovation strategy that will achieve IP creation objectives in the short, medium, and long-term while enabling efficient performance and sustainable growth. ? Develops new startup business plans and a startup attraction strategy to partner with promising startups. ? Monitors research and development of other organizations to spot trends in innovation and supplement research findings. ? Conducts research and analysis and examines patent applications to determine whether the invention is new, useful, and non-obvious and whether it meets the legal requirements for patentability. ? Coordinates with researchers, inventors, attorneys, and other stakeholders. ? Engages with internal and external stakeholders to secure external funding for the Centre?s research programs and initiatives. ? Advises management on yearly, medium-term, long-term, and future innovation goals, and implements an innovation strategy and roadmap that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives. ? Builds and maintains partnerships with external organizations, including startups, universities, and research institutions, to leverage their expertise and resources. Desirable Qualification and Experience: ? BSC, Master's degree in engineering, technology, science, or a related field, or equivalent experience ? Five (05) ? Sixteen (10) years of experience working in operations, technology- innovation-related management roles, technology transfer and implementation, and with a clear understanding of start-up environments and incubation. ? Demonstrated experience in pursuing funding opportunities, including grants, loans, and venture capital investments ? Experience developing innovative technology-based roadmaps and strategies ? Experience in IoT, AI-based prototypes is preferred. ? Experience leveraging new technologies to enhance the position and performance of an organization and creating new business opportunities ? Proven track record of solving problems in a technology environment across a range of technologies and disciplines and extremely familiar with the IP protection process and options ? Strong record of initiating, developing, and implementing key Innovations ? Prior experience working in a Research and Development facility, or technological entities is desirable Job-Specific Skills: ?
