Job Purpose

\xe2\x80\x8bTo handle maintenance, repairs, and upgrades in the dental laboratory facilities, and support health care professionals and students who are using them, as well as safely test the labs and assure proper functioning of facilities, materials and equipment.\xe2\x80\x8b

Main accountabilities & expectations

• Demonstrate the procedures for the students and explain x-ray related issues like film types, processing, infection control and radiation hazards.
• Perform intra-oral and extra-oral x-ray for patients in urgent care and CBCT scan.
• Safely prepare exam rooms for individual students and patients according to the recommended standards.
• Ensure clear imaging results, which requires proper use of the equipment, keeping patients calm and informed throughout the x-ray procedure.
• Perform x-ray procedures for students and patients, maintain patient records and develop exposed radiographs.
• Ensure proper inspection/maintenance of equipment and medical instruments are done on regular basis, and report any malfunctions or issues immediately.
• Assist in managing lab facilities by making sure that the equipment and machines are in good working order and recommends improvements as appropriate to maintain standards of accuracy and reliability.
• Ensure and reinforce safety standards and protocols in the laboratory, and implement safety training for both faculty and students.
• Provide an array of video libraries, examinations and procedures in order to help dental students prepare for class experiments, surgical procedures and clinical examinations.
• Assist in preparing laboratory supply inventory and ordering of laboratory equipment, reagents and consumables.
• Oversee the cleanliness and tidiness of the Laboratory at all times.\xe2\x80\x8b

Required Skills

• Priority is to UAE Nationals.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to prepare professional documents, in both Arabic and English.
• Good laboratory management including knowledge of basic lab principles and applications as well as methods, equipment, materials and facilities.
• Demonstrate a good understanding of operating the required software/hardware
• Able to understand the meaning of common error messages and explain them to users in simple language.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and produce reports under strict guidelines.
• High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance
• Use technical knowledge to help and assist users overcome any difficulties.
• Flexibility and ability to function effectively as part of a team.
• \xe2\x80\x8bProficiency in MS office applications\xe2\x80\x8b

Desirable Requirements

• Minimum of Bachelors in Dental Medicine, or any related discipline.
• 1-4 years of UAE experience in similar role preferably in higher education institutions.\xe2\x80\x8b
