Job Description
A garage equipment technician installs, maintains, and repairs various tools and machinery used in automotive garages, including lifts, diagnostic tools, and air compressors, tire changer, wheel balancer, alignment machine, pneumatic equipment's, ac recovery machine, injector cleaner, electrical & electronic equipment's. They ensure these tools are functioning correctly and safely for technicians to perform vehicle repairs and maintenance. Their work ensures the smooth operation of a garage and the efficiency of its technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Setup:
Installing new garage equipment like lifts, tire changers, and diagnostic tools, ensuring proper connections and calibration.Routine Maintenance:
Performing regular checks and maintenance on equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.Troubleshooting and Repair:
Diagnosing and repairing malfunctions in various garage equipment, using technical manuals, diagnostic tools, and hand tools.Safety Compliance:
Ensuring all equipment is used and maintained according to safety regulations and guidelines.Record Keeping:
Maintaining records of maintenance, repairs, and equipment inventory.Training and Development:
Keeping up to date with new technologies and procedures related to garage equipment.Skills Required:
Technical Skills:
Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in garage equipment.Diagnostic Skills:
Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues with various tools and machinery.Problem-Solving Skills:
Identifying and resolving problems with equipment efficiently.Attention to Detail:
Ensuring all work is performed accurately and according to specifications.Communication Skills:
Effectively communicating with other technicians and garage staff.Physical Ability:
Ability to lift and move equipment, and work in various positions.Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent, Followed by post-secondary education or training such as a certificate program or associate's degree
