Job Description
Major Responsibilities, Duties performed and authorities :
- Reports to Mechanical Foreman & understand the basic mechanical terminology and symbols to report breakdown, repair , maintenance and preventive maintenance .
- Performs preventive maintenance and inspection. Assists in repairs and replace major equipment / components including Ladle Turret components, Tundish Car parts, oscillator, Withdrawal unit components, guide rollers, Turn over cooling bed, marking machine, hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders. Steam exhaust fan and all other CCM equipment.
- This position must respond to all system failures by taking appropriate corrective action by completing maintenance works with safely, efficiently and Tests equipment for proper operation.
- Experience of condition monitoring, alignment , and overhauling of pumps; gearboxes compressors, grease lubrication system etc.
- Maintenance jobs are to be carried out as per standard SOPs and OEM guidelines. Maintain the housekeeping in work area. Keep the spares and tools at designated places.
- To perform maintenance works in all areas other than CCM like water complex, overhead cranes.
- Knowledge of sprit level , vernire caliper, temp. gauges , micrometer etc equipment usage.
- Get feedback from Shift reliever and able to work under minimum supervision. Update the supervisor for equipment condition and expected require maintenance.
- To understand and follow the organizational HS&E policies.
- To follow safety instructions related to their jobs.
- To report damaged PPE, unsafe machines or equipment to concerned staff.
- To keep the provided PPEs in good, workable conditions.
- To avoid any horseplay and abuse of safety devices, equipment and welfare facilities.
- To report any accidents, near misses or hazardous conditions to concerned responsible.
- To attend safety trainings planned for them.
- Having a right to say "NO" to any unsafe work.
