The Smart Hands/Data Center Technician - ICT plays a vital role in supporting data center operations by providing on-site, hands-on assistance for clients and internal teams. This position ensures physical tasks--such as equipment installation, troubleshooting, cable management, and basic hardware support--are executed efficiently and in compliance with operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform rack and stack of servers, switches, routers, storage, and other IT hardware.
Handle cable installations, tracing, labeling, and structured cable management (copper and fiber).
Provide basic hardware troubleshooting and diagnostics, including power cycling, component swaps, and visual inspections.
Assist with hardware replacements (e.g., hard drives, power supplies, memory) as instructed by remote engineers.
Support remote hands requests from clients and internal teams via ticketing systems or direct communication.
Conduct inventory management, including hardware tracking, asset tagging, and stock audits.
Escort and supervise vendors, engineers, and auditors when required.
Ensure work complies with data center best practices, safety procedures, and physical security standards.
Document activities clearly and update task/ticketing systems
Report any abnormal conditions, incidents, or potential risks to site management.
Skills Required:
5 years of experience in IT support/operations, data center operations, or related field
Familiarity with network and server hardware (Cisco, Dell, HP, etc.).
Knowledge of cabling standards (Cat6, fiber optics, labeling, patching).
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and adherence to process.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in physical environments (tight spaces, ladders, etc.).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and respond effectively to remote instruction.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent workplace experience.
