2. JOB SUMMARY
To provide efficient and economical maintenance and repair service for DPW crane equipment thereby adding support to the smooth functioning of port operations while considering operational and safety factors, and adherence to port policies and procedures.
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITY
1. To carry out planned electrical maintenance and diagnostic works and repairs ensuring maximum operational availability of equipment to all scheduled plant and equipment in a safe manner in compliance with the safety regulations and procedures as defined by DP World.
2. To diagnose faults on equipment and ascertain cause of defects, repair methods and spare part requirements for efficient and permanent repairs.
3. To identify and select the correct spare parts either by visual recognition or from technical equipment manuals thereby constantly monitoring and improving all repair methods.
4. To carry out maintenance work, fault diagnosis and repair works, on crane related works and their parts following DPW systems and process in an efficient manner with minimum supervision.
5. To communicate with the Supervisor(s) and keep them informed of the progress of work.
6. Visit sites of work locations and equipment as and when assigned tasks related out of beyond the regular workshops.
7. Gain knowledge base to be able to work across sections and job functions, through understanding of Crane & Plant equipment, along with electrical and mechanical works.
8. To undertake work in a safe manner and ensure team of auto electricians daily activities are in compliance with safety regulations and procedures as defined by DP World.

  • Raising Awareness of Safety : Develops training materials to help raise awareness of safety standards.

9. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Desirable Qualification: Specialization in Crane equipment
Work Experience: 5+ years experience in working on equipment in heavy industries like Port, Mines, Steel and Manufacturing Plants Maintenance/Repair Workshop.
Technical skills required to perform the role:
Carry Out Planned Maintenance

Crane Electrical works
Knowledge of automobile engines and repairing works.
