Overall Role Purpose The Technical Safety Officer primary role is to support the Director Safety and Ground Operations in providing safety oversight of Health, Safety and Environment requirements, along with Safety Management System support for the Maintenance and Engineering Departments. The job holder will use his expertise and knowledge to develop, oversee management programs and systems which enhance safety and efficiency in throughout the DHX Operational, Maintenance and Engineering facilities and tasks.

Your Tasks: Under take inspections, surveillance, risk assessment and investigations for Engineering and Maintenance activities. Under take analysis of safety report and flight data, presenting findings at the Engineering Safety Action Group Maintain and implement safety oversight of Environmental programmes within DHX. Maintain and implement safety requirements for contracted activities for Engineering and Maintenance functions. Support Airworthiness reviews, through the provision of relevant MOR reports in a timely manner to the nominated person undertaking the review. Participate in the emergency response program (ERP) and business continuity plan (BCP). In particular, support Engineering and Maintenance aspects of Aviation ERM and BCP, and ensure facility First Aid and Fire Warden requirements are maintained. Adhere to the DHL Code of Conduct paying particular attention to Corporate Values. Provide expertise to assist the Airline, third party wet lease operators and Service Providers (through Technical Department) to achieve DHL safety standards. To conduct investigations, and provide assistance when required, to identify root cause and establish corrective and/or preventative actions in relation to Technical and Health and Safety incidents and accidents. Support the Safety Audit program. Through inspections and audits, ensuring timely and efficient surveillance and actions taken to maintain high levels of safety and standards for Technical Department Safety and Health and Safety: Monitor Safety Reports and Technical Flight Data Events through oversight of the Safety Management System and Flight Data databases. system ensuring root cause and acceptable corrective actions are identified and implemented. Maintain the DHL Aviation EEMEA B.S.C. Ground Handling Policy in conformance with ISAGO utilizing IATA AHM, IATA GOM and DHL Aviation GSAM publications. To ensure that all airline cargo management processes are correctly undertaken and in line with the company's cargo acceptance & delivery procedures. Ensure company policy for restricted commodities is communicated and complied with. Suggest & advise when requested on any GSE requirements supporting ground handling operations in the DHL Aviation EEMEA B.S.C. network. Provide expertise to assist all sections of Airline, third party wet lease operators and Ground Service Providers (through Regional Ground Operations Team) to achieve DHL Global Standards and regulatory requirements. Ensure dangerous goods material carried is accepted and handled in accordance with operator and regulatory requirements.

Your Profile: A minimum of 3 years' recent experience working in a similar role, in a similar setting. Experience of working within quality system driven environment (ISO:9000 or similar). Experience with Root cause analysis, 5 Whys and Six Sigma methodologies. Possessing good IT skills and experience in using Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint. Able to demonstrate high-level organizational skills, excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Aircraft Maintenance qualifications. IOSH or NEBOSH qualified to Diploma level. Aircraft Maintenance Human Factors qualified. Aircraft Maintenance Flight Data Analysis qualified. Advanced level of PC literacy Good command of MS office programmes including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
