Objective
The Technical Project Manager (TPM) Battery and Renewable Energy leads the technical development of projects in Asia, Middle East and Africa region (AMEA). The TPM will mostly focus on the development of Battery Energy Storage projects and Renewable Energy components (wind & solar) of Hydrogen and desalination projects.
Reporting line
The TPM reports to the Head of Engineering and Technical Support in Dubai.
Job responsibility
  • Contributes to project technical definition at an early development stage.
  • Contributes to the selection of technologies, configuration analysis, resource estimation, production estimates, availability, degradation, schedule, KPIs including innovative technology solutions.
  • Manages the technical mark up and comments of bidding documents.
  • Manages all project related studies during bidding/development phase till execution hand-over: pre-feasibility studies, feasibility studies, geotechnical survey, topographical survey, resources survey and assessment, re-circulation studies, ESIA studies\xe2\x80\xa6
  • Leads the qualification and selection of technical consultants: Technical Advisor, Owners\xe2\x80\x99 Engineer, Lenders\xe2\x80\x99 Engineer, ESIA Consultant\xe2\x80\xa6
  • Leads the technical development and documentation of the contractual agreements during development/bidding and negotiation stage: EPC, P(W)PA, fuel supply agreements, electricity connection agreement, LTPRA, LTSA, O&M Contract etc...
  • Participates to the technical qualification of EPC Contractor and equipment suppliers.
  • Reviews the technical proposals of EPC contractor and equipment suppliers.
  • Prepares the technical related part of the project CAPEX and OPEX.
  • Prepares all technical and O&M related documents for the proposal/bid: EPC Term sheet, EPC Contract, OM organization chart, O&M references, O&M philosophy...
  • Interfaces with Lender\'s Engineer and support Lenders\xe2\x80\x99 due diligence.
  • Management of internal approval process (for Bid submission including Technical and O&M).
  • Punctually provides support to construction and operation.
  • Prepares the technical hand-over for execution stage.
  • Ensures experience capitalization and REX integration.
  • Performs Technology watch.
  • Frequent travels.
Qualification/Experience
  • Engineering degree, with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
  • Experienced in battery energy storage engineering and/or technical development.
  • Experienced in wind and/or solar energy projects.
  • Experienced in technical project development: green/brown field, construction, acquisition, divestment of power plants.
  • Experienced in preparing and negotiating contractual documents: PPA, HPA, EPC, EPCM, subcontractors, O&M, LTSA, LTPRA, consultants\xe2\x80\x99 contracts...
  • Experienced in interfacing with BD team, legal team, finance team, construction team, operaiton team.
  • Experience within ENGIE Group or equivalent is a plus.
  • Organized, rigorous, ability to step back.
  • Inter-functional, intercultural and interpersonal facilitation skills.
  • Ability to listen, lead and convince in a non-hierarchical position.
  • High negotiation capability maintaining a balance between assertiveness and flexibility.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Languages: fluent English. Arab or French is a plus.
