Technical Planning Engineer - Marine Operations - DP World - Dubai, UAE
Position Overview
The Technical Planning Engineer role at DP World Dubai supports the planning, coordination, and execution of marine technical projects and maintenance activities across P and O Maritime Logistics business units. Based at the Dubai Corporate Office, this role ensures accurate technical records, effective maintenance planning, and smooth implementation of PMS and NSE systems for vessels and newly established business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain five-year master dry docking and overhaul plans for classified vessels across PSD business units
  • Maintain dry docking performance reports and records for all reported vessels
  • Coordinate monthly maintenance planning with technical managers, dry dock managers, and supervisors
  • Complete and manage technical documentation for newly added vessels and ensure proper filing systems are maintained
  • Prepare and submit monthly technical reliability reports including vessel downtime
  • Coordinate with contractors on administrative matters such as leave applications, timesheets, and expense claims
  • Maintain vessel inspection reports and track outstanding or missing documentation ahead of deadlines
  • Ensure technical folders on company servers are accurate, updated, and well structured
  • Support QA inspections and follow up on closure of technical non-conformity items
  • Assist business units in maintaining warranty claim registers for new build vessels
  • Support administrative tasks including gate pass requests and travel arrangements when required
NSE and PMS Coordination
  • Coordinate PMS and NSE implementation for newly acquired vessels and newly established business units
  • Create service requests and maintain trackers as required
  • Monitor PMS and NSE performance and follow up on completion of preventive maintenance jobs
  • Supervise DCR processes within the NSE system in coordination with technical teams
  • Receive and process technical invoices for services and spares in the NSE system after approval
Budgeting and Cost Control
  • Assist in preparation of CAPEX and OPEX budgets
  • Monitor dry docking expenditures and provide cost updates when required
  • Maintain CAPEX trackers for business units, new builds, and dry docking activities
  • Maintain AFE records, track purchase orders, and follow up on submitted approvals
General and Systems Support
  • Manage system and software issues related to Fusion, NSE, and other technical portals
  • Coordinate with vendors to resolve system access and functionality issues
  • Maintain vessel and equipment databases on Power BI platforms
  • Manage action tracker registers for PSD technical departments
  • Provide cross-departmental support and perform additional tasks as assigned by line management
Ideal Profile
  • Qualification in mechanical or marine engineering preferred
  • Minimum five years of experience in marine maintenance planning, PMS administration, or technical coordination
  • Experience within the marine or offshore industry
  • Strong knowledge of PMS and maintenance planning systems
  • Familiarity with local marine suppliers preferred
  • Strong verbal and written reporting skills in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • High level of technical competence and system literacy
