Job Purpose:

The Technical Office Engineer is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating all technical documentation, including shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements. The role ensures technical compliance with contract documents, authority regulations, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and review shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documents in coordination with design and site teams. Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, standards, and authority requirements. Coordinate with consultants, site engineers, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues. Follow up on approvals for drawings and materials and maintain logs and trackers. Prepare method statements, RFIs, and variation proposals when required. Support the planning and procurement teams with technical inputs and quantities. Review IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings and prepare BOQ take-offs for construction works. Maintain an organized technical documentation system for all project records. Attend technical meetings and coordinate with consultants and clients when needed. Support QA/QC and site teams with technical clarifications and implementation guidance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering. 3-7 years of experience in a similar technical role within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of local authority regulations (e.g., ADM, DCD, DEWA, ADDC). Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and document management systems. Revit or BIM is an advantage.
