Job Summary:

Responsible for leading the technical department and ensuring excellence in all aspects of design, engineering, and construction execution across multiple building projects. This role involves establishing robust technical systems, overseeing design coordination, reviewing and approving technical submissions, managing cross-disciplinary integration, and implementing innovative construction methodologies. The Technical Director ensures that all projects comply with local regulations, client specifications, and company objectives, while driving efficiency, quality, and safety on site. The role also involves mentoring a high-performing technical team and providing strategic guidance to project and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee technical activities on assigned building projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, design requirements, and company standards. Review and approve construction drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and technical submittals. Coordinate with design consultants, project managers, and site teams to resolve technical issues and avoid rework. Implement and monitor technical procedures, standards, and quality control measures on-site. Supervise and mentor technical engineers, coordinators, and site staff to ensure high-quality outputs. Facilitate coordination between architectural, structural, MEP, and other technical disciplines. Conduct technical audits and reviews on ongoing works to ensure adherence to approved drawings and specifications. Support value engineering exercises to optimize construction methods, materials, and project efficiency. Ensure proper documentation of all technical correspondence, drawings, approvals, and reports. Provide guidance on construction methodologies, materials, and execution strategies to project teams. Monitor and track progress of technical submissions, approvals, and design deliverables for timely execution. Assist in preparing technical reports, project updates, and presentations for management and stakeholders. Ensure compliance with UAE construction regulations, HSE standards, and local authority requirements. Participate in project meetings to provide technical input, resolve issues, and advise on constructability. Implement BIM practices and digital tools for design coordination, clash detection, and workflow efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline. 16 or more years of experience in the building contracting in UAE with at least 4 years as a manager.
