The

Technical Manager - Joinery Draftsman

is responsible for leading the technical and drafting team in producing detailed shop drawings, material specifications, and cutting lists for bespoke joinery and interior fit-out projects. The role ensures drawings meet design intent, production capabilities, and project timelines, maintaining high standards of accuracy and coordination across departments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Drawing & Design Management

Supervise and review detailed

joinery shop drawings

, ensuring accuracy and compliance with design intent and site measurements. Manage the drafting team to deliver all drawings (plans, elevations, sections, and details) according to project schedules. Liaise with designers, architects, and consultants for approvals and technical clarifications. Ensure CAD/BIM standards, drawing templates, and file management procedures are followed.

2. Technical Coordination

Interpret architectural and interior design drawings into

manufacturing-ready joinery drawings

. Provide

technical support

to production, site, and procurement teams. Review materials and hardware specifications for technical suitability and availability. Coordinate with the project team to resolve design and production issues promptly.

3. Quality & Process Control

Conduct technical reviews before drawings are issued for production. Standardize joinery construction methods, materials, and detailing across projects. Support continuous improvement of drafting and technical processes.

4. Team Management

Lead, train, and mentor a team of joinery draftsmen. Allocate workloads and monitor performance against project deadlines. Ensure proper documentation and drawing revision control.

5. Project Support

Attend project meetings for technical discussions and design coordination. Support tender and estimation teams with technical input when required. Ensure all shop drawings are aligned with project specifications and client expectations.
