Job Summary

The Technical Manager oversees Acumen Safety's technical operations, inspection processes, and compliance activities. This role ensures all inspections and certifications meet international standards (ISO/IEC 17020, ISO 17024, ASME, BS, EN, etc.), regulatory requirements, and company quality objectives. The Technical Manager leads the engineering team, approves reports, develops procedures, and drives continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage inspection engineers and technical staff across disciplines. Ensure inspections and tests comply with procedures and standards. Review and approve inspection reports, certificates, and design calculations. Develop and maintain procedures, checklists, and work instructions. Coordinate with Quality Manager for audits and competence assessments. Evaluate and authorize new inspection engineers. Monitor performance and implement training or corrective actions. Oversee calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment. Provide technical support for quotations, client queries, and project planning. Ensure HSE and legal compliance during inspections and testing. Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulators for approvals. Promote continuous improvement and best practices.

Job Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred).

Experience:

6-8 years in inspection/testing of lifting equipment, pressure vessels, cranes, and related machinery.

Knowledge:

ISO/IEC 17020, ISO 17024, ASME, BS, EN, API standards.

Certifications:

NDT Level II preferred; OSHAD Practitioner/NEBOSH preferred.

Technical Skills:

Engineering drawings, design calculations, load charts; AutoCAD/SolidWorks; QMS and technical audits.

Soft Skills:

Leadership, communication, mentoring, report writing, analytical problem-solving.
