Position Overview
The Technical Engineer - Mechanical Systems at Azizi Developments is responsible for managing all mechanical engineering activities across major building construction projects. This role involves reviewing and interpreting mechanical drawings, ensuring compliance with UAE authority standards, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and providing technical support from design to handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering process for mechanical systems including drainage, water, HVAC, LPG, and fire fighting
• Review IFC designs for compliance with UAE authority standards (DM, DCD, Empower, Trakhees, Dubai South)
• Manage a team of 10-15 draftsmen for production of shop drawings and as-built drawings
• Prepare and validate engineering calculations such as ESP, pump head, ventilation, pressurization, and heat load
• Develop MEP coordination and modular drawings in collaboration with other engineering disciplines
• Prepare and review material submittals, drawings, and calculations for accuracy and compliance
• Support authority submissions and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
• Review major material procurement requests for compliance with project specifications
• Provide technical support to project teams from design through execution and handover
• Maintain detailed logs for materials, drawings, RFIs, and procurement activities
• Prepare BOQs, RFIs, and RFPs while coordinating with procurement teams
• Attend site meetings and liaise with stakeholders for project updates and deliverables

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution
• Minimum 8 years of UAE experience working exclusively with contracting companies on building projects
• Proven expertise in HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems
• Strong knowledge of UAE building codes, mechanical standards, and authority requirements (DM, DCD, Empower, Trakhees, Dubai South)
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing engineering drawings, submittals, and calculations
• Excellent project coordination and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to lead drafting teams and resolve complex site technical challenges
