Position Overview
The Technical Engineer - Mechanical is responsible for managing the technical aspects of HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, and other mechanical systems in large-scale construction projects. This role ensures full compliance with UAE authority requirements, international standards, and project specifications, while coordinating across multidisciplinary teams to support smooth execution from design to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret mechanical design drawings, BOQs, and specifications for HVAC, plumbing, and fire fighting systems
• Prepare, review, and validate shop drawings, as-built drawings, and coordination drawings in line with authority and project requirements
• Coordinate with structural, architectural, and electrical teams to resolve design-related issues and ensure compatibility
• Ensure compliance with UAE authority regulations (DM, DEWA, DCD, ADDC) and international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA)
• Provide technical guidance and support during installation, testing, and commissioning phases
• Handle material submittals, method statements, RFIs, and related documentation for project approvals
• Liaise with procurement to ensure correct and timely delivery of materials and equipment
• Attend site meetings and technical workshops with consultants, clients, and internal stakeholders
• Assist with obtaining authority approvals and ensure submission packages are complete and compliant
• Contribute to value engineering processes and project optimization for efficiency and cost savings

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in UAE contracting firms
• Strong background in mechanical systems for high-rise, commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, HAP, DuctSizer, PipeSizer (Revit MEP knowledge is an advantage)
• Familiarity with local authority codes and approval processes (DM, DEWA, DCD, ADDC, etc.)
• Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and coordination abilities in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
