Job Description

Construction Technical Engineer:

The Construction Technical Engineer provides technical support and engineering expertise throughout the construction project lifecycle. This role ensures that construction activities comply with design specifications, technical standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements while supporting site teams with drawings, calculations, materials, and problem-solving.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical & Engineering Support

Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and BOQs Provide technical guidance to site engineers and supervisors Prepare method statements, technical submittals, and shop drawings Resolve technical issues arising during construction Ensure works are executed according to approved designs and standards Project Coordination Coordinate with consultants, architects, and subcontractors on technical matters
Quality & Compliance

Ensure compliance with local codes, project specifications, and standards Assist in implementing quality control procedures Review material submittals and ensure approval before use Monitor workmanship quality and recommend corrective actions
Documentation & Reporting

Maintain technical documentation, drawings, and revisions Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and as-built drawings Support handover documentation and commissioning activities
Health, Safety & Environment

Support implementation of HSE plans on site Ensure technical solutions comply with safety requirements
Qualifications & SkillsEducation

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field
Experience

3-7 years of experience in construction projects (buildings, infrastructure, or industrial projects) Experience working on-site with contractors or consultants
Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or other engineering software Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings Familiarity with QA/QC procedures and construction standards
Soft Skills

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Good communication and coordination abilities Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Team-oriented with attention to detail
Preferred (Optional)

Experience with BIM or project management software Knowledge of local building codes and regulations Professional certification (e.g., PE, PMP - advantage) Assist in design clarifications and value engineering proposals Support planning and sequencing of construction activities Participate in technical meetings and site inspections
