Job Description

Summary:
The Technical Engineer is responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and maintaining systems, equipment, or software. They work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance, resolve technical issues, and implement improvements. The role may involve hardware, software, networking, or a combination of disciplines depending on the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, networks, or systems.
  • Provide timely support to end-users, clients, or internal teams.
  • Document troubleshooting steps and solutions for future reference.
2. System Maintenance & Installation:
  • Install, configure, and maintain technical systems, equipment, or software.
  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
3. Testing & Quality Assurance:
  • Test new systems, components, or software updates before deployment.
  • Identify and report defects, ensuring compliance with technical specifications.

4. Technical Documentation:
  • Create and update technical manuals, guidelines, and reports.
  • Maintain records of system configurations, changes, and maintenance activities.
5. Collaboration & Project Support:
  • Work with engineers, developers, and IT teams to implement technical solutions.
  • Assist in project planning, execution, and deployment of new technologies.
  • Provide technical training to staff or clients when necessary.
6. Compliance & Security:
  • Ensure systems meet industry standards and security protocols.
  • Follow best practices for data protection and cybersecurity.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • years of experience in technical support, engineering, or a similar role.
  • Industry-specific certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA, AWS, Microsoft) may be required.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware/software issues.
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS), networks, or relevant software.
  • Experience with programming/scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) may be required.
