Founded in 2009, and acquired by NOMAC in 2018, NOMAC Maintenance Energy Services (NMES) is the leading regional non-OEM service provider for the middle east region in terms of long-term contracted market share.

Currently holding a portfolio of more than 14 Gigawatt of installed Power under LTSA, and with 12 Gigawatt more under development, NMES currently performs all required outage services (minor, medium, major, CI, HGPI, MI) on 25 Gas Turbines, 26 Steam turbines and 51 Generators.

NMES supports its end-users by providing OEM level quality services and exceptional value creation through highly skilled and trained outage personnel (outage managers, Field Service Engineers, Technicians, specialists) and by applying innovative, downtime reducing services such as:

- Spark erosion technology
- On-site machining solutions for ST and GT casings, bearing pedestals, burner inserts, tip grinding
- On Site Rotor Machining and Low speed Balancing
- On site blasting, coating and curing of Compressor parts (blades/Vanes) with Aluminum Chromate coatings.
- Re-engineering services and pump spare manufacturing.

NMES has established full-service subsidiaries in KSA, Oman and UAE and maintains a continuous presence of personnel and equipment in over 10 countries, with full-service workshops in the United Arab Emirates and Oman, and an additional facility under development in KSA to assure service readiness everywhere we do business

Scope

Support with manpower, Time, and Material estimation during tendering.

Reporting Line

The Technical Authority will report to the Executive Manager Generator & Repairs Services.

Key Accountabilities

Write detailed job specific method statements.
Technical clarification meetings with customer.
Specialised Generator testing such as Electromagnetic Core Imperfection Detection (ELCID) / Stator wedge tightness / Offline & ONLINE PD measurements.
Engineering report writing.
Interpretation of test results and deriving conclusions.
Technical support to the team of field service engineers.
Basic tests such as IR / PI / Rotor shorted turn analysis / Static Impedance / Ohmic resistance.
Undertake works to a high standard on a first-time fix basis where possible.
Must be computer literate.
Ability to lead a site team and report back to the office accurately and precisely.
Ensure exceptional levels of customer care.
Work independently as well as part of a team.
Must be methodical and accurate.
Accurately assess and observe damage and wear on AC/DC electric motors & generators and other machines.
Complete daily logs and write overhaul reports after completion.
Use of Rotor Alignment, megger, fluke, bearing scrapper, Static testing equipment.

Skills

Qualification

Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Experience

Experienced Generator Technical Advisor/ Lead engineer during site projects of generator major overhauls / stator-rotor rewinds.
Minimum experience of 15 years.
Previous experience within Electro-Mechanical environment.
Experience of rotating equipment as well as route cause analyses and measuring.
Proficient in usage of industry equipment correctly and safely during the repair process.
Trained in Hazardous area (ATEX/Ex) and holds an inspection certificate would be an advantage but not essential.
Full driving license would be an advantage.

Language

Fluent English both written and verbal.

Travels

This role would require site project support and emergency work to be carried out (overnight) as and when required.
Be able to travel for undetermined durations as and when required for specific site work.
