What you can expect

Core Responsibilities

Functional / Operational tasks: Acquisition of projects and chemical sales Execution of sales of licenses, chemicals and services in close cooperation with supporting functions (Product Management, OTC, etc.) Steering of local business in close alignment with regional management gas treatment with regard to technical marketing and sales activities, budget, forecasting and targeted NS3P. Negotiation of contracts with customers and business partners together with internal partners and in diverse cultural environment Evaluation and documentation of market intelligence and competitor activities in the relevant markets. Strategic tasks: IP-protection:

Acts according to all principles of BASF gas treatment for the protection of intellectual property, informs superiors about weak spots and contributes actively to protect IP Innovation:

Transfer of industry needs into tangible chemical or technical requirements for CI Identification of areas for the application of new products of own portfolio (on demand) Development of products within cooperation's with internal and external partners (on demand) Analysis of the essential markets in diverse industries in Africa and validation of the market intelligence for BASF gas treatment product portfolio. Knowledge management and support of strategy development for market- customer and product strategies for relevant development projects. Other Tasks: Acts according to all regulations for health, safety and environment. Identifies and informs about possible weaknesses and potential risks, near misses and accidents. development and exchange of best practices coaching of younger colleagues without leadership tasks

foster cross-BU collaboration and contribute to initiatives as required

What we expect

Qualification /Skills/ Experience Education: Education & training required Bachelors in engineering or chemical engineering or equivalent Additional degree in business administration preferable

Working Experience: Experience working in a business environment in a chemical, oil or gas company Generating business based on technical know-how / technical sales Experience in a technical position in the oil, gas or chemical industry preferred 3 years of experience

Technical & Professional Knowledge: Knowledge and understanding in the constitution and negotiation of commercial contracts Knowledge in product management Basic controlling skills

IT skills: Office knowledge

Language skills (level): Good command of spoken and written English
