Job Description

3. JOB PURPOSE:

Planning, monitoring, organizing, supervising and coordinating all rig move operations and site preparation activities. To ensure that all prerequisites, and planning and execution of rig move operations are well monitored, which include monitoring rig move & site preparation coordinators, rig move and site preparation supervisors and the Kenworth drivers and Equipment Operators, as per company Rig Move Policy and Procedures.

4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Job Specific Accountabilities

  • Leads the Rig Move Operations and Site Preparation teams, assigns duties and responsibilities to his staff and employees, and performs supervisory function at the level established by the management for the position.
  • Provides an efficient, safe and timely rig move and site preparation services to the rigs as and when required.
  • Ensures the implementation and control of the assigned duties to staff and employees in the rig move and site preparation teams.
  • Advises on safe and efficient operations during Rig moves & site preparation, and on the integrity and efficiency of rig move fleet & site preparation equipment owned or hired.
  • Ensures that all procedures of the rig move and site preparation manuals have been implemented correctly and followed strictly. Advises updates/reviews on rig move & site preparation manual continuously in order to improve rig move & site preparation services.
  • Works in line with the company's main objective that the rig move & site preparation target time is not affected by way of ensuring the availability of rig move fleet and site preparation equipment.
  • Monitors the scheduling of rig move fleet & site preparation equipment, and allocation of duties to the drivers and operators. Also, monitors the performance of his staff and employees on the rig move & site preparation.
  • Knows the company's health, safety and environmental policy, procedures, regulations and objectives as they related to the area of his responsibility and ensure that they are effectively implemented in his area of responsibility. Ensures by appropriate monitoring and review the work under his control is performed in a safe and environment friendly manner.
  • Ensures sufficient availability of rig move fleet, site preparation equipment and crew, and monitors the certification of fleet, equipment and crew, in order to perform all rig moves and site preparation operations safely.
  • Reviews and audits that Rig move and site preparation crew (drivers and operators) are following the procedures for fleet & equipment operations. Guides/Advises where necessary.
  • Monitors drivers & operators' behaviour and takes corrective measures to improve driving & operation behaviour in line with HSE safety requirements.
  • Monitors that PMS procedures are fully complied to and strictly followed by the rig move & site preparation staff.
  • Undertakes regular physical inspection of moving rigs and site preparation in order to ensure that requisite standards of HSE and performance of his crew is of high standards and being properly applied. Where necessary gives instructions/guidance.
  • Studies and analyses rig move data and site preparation data, and recommends the most economical, efficient and safe measures to be taken to optimize rig move operations.
  • Coordinates in preparation of budgets and five year business operational plan with regard to rig move and site preparation fleet, equipment, tools, spares etc.
  • Keeps the Manager, Rig Moves informed on the activities being carried out, completed and upcoming via emails, meetings and reports.
  • Comply with all UAE, ADNOC, ADNOC Drilling and client Asset Integrity Management codes of practice.

Supervision
  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
  • Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.
Budgets
  • Provide input for preparation of the Department budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
  • Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
  • Implement approved Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Section's work programs in line with Company and International standards.
  • Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.
Performance Management
  • Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Section in line with the Company Performance framework.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
  • Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
  • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
  • Support the institution of an HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines across the Division in line with international standards, best practices and Corporate Code of Practices and to ensure integrity and safety of assets.
Reports
  • Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.
5. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal
  • Has daily contact and communication with direct supervisor, peers and subordinates in the department.
  • Keeps regular contact and communication with rig move support team.
  • Has daily/periodical contact with Rig Managers and Team Leader - Workshop.
  • Has occasional contact with DTMs, Drilling Manager and SVPO.
External
  • None.
6. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification
  • Diploma / Undergraduate or equivalent.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
  • 15 years of relevant experience in an oilfield transport organization, including rig move.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the similar position in an oilfield transport organization (rig move and site preparation).
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and communication abilities in spoken Arabic.
  • Must be computer literate (MS Office & ERP program such as SAP).
