Team Lead - Marine Engineering - AECOM Middle East - Dubai, UAE
Position Overview
Team Lead - Marine Engineering role in Dubai focused on leading the planning, design, and delivery of complex marine and coastal infrastructure projects across the UAE and the Middle East. This position plays a senior technical and leadership role, overseeing multidisciplinary design teams and delivering high-value consultancy projects involving ports, harbors, coastal developments, and marine structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and design of marine structures including breakwaters, revetments, quay walls, jetties, marinas, outfalls, subsea pipelines, subsea cables, and scour protection systems
  • Deliver marine terminal, port, and waterfront development projects covering marine and topside components
  • Manage design of artificial islands, beaches, harbors, and coastal infrastructure
  • Apply advanced coastal modelling techniques including hydrodynamic, wave, and sediment transport analysis
  • Utilize modelling and design tools such as DHI Mike Zero, Delft suites, Staad Pro, Plaxis, Geo5, and Slope-W
  • Oversee project management activities including proposal preparation, budgeting, scheduling, and delivery control
  • Provide geotechnical and foundation design expertise for marine and coastal structures
  • Support business development initiatives and client engagement activities
  • Lead, manage, and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams within a consultancy environment
  • Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, drawings, and construction documentation
  • Undertake site supervision visits within the UAE and Middle East to ensure quality and compliance
  • Ensure projects meet contractual requirements, industry standards, and client expectations
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Marine, Coastal, or related engineering discipline
  • Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field is highly desirable
  • 10 to 20+ years of experience in marine and coastal engineering within a consultancy environment
  • Proven Middle East project experience
  • Strong leadership experience managing multidisciplinary design teams
  • Solid background in project management and consultancy delivery
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and coordination skills
