Post title: Classroom Assistant

Salary range: 2350 AED - 3000 AED

Weekly hours: 7:00am to 5:30pm / 7:30am-6:00pm

Days of work: Monday - Friday and (Alternating Saturdays 8am - 2pm)

Responsible to Manager, academic coordinator, TA Supervisor

Requirements:

Required

High school certificate and two years of experience
Desirable

Attested Bachelors, Cache Level 2, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Early Years and previous experience of working in a nursery.
Key responsibilities:

Ensure all children are safeguarded and their welfare and safety are promoted Contribute a high standard of physical, social, emotional and intellectual care for all children in the nursery Always give support to other team members throughout the nursery Work as part of a team to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, learn and develop To maintain the highest level of cleanliness within the nursery To support the teacher in setting up an engaging and creative environment To be able to observe children in play and share moments of interest and learning
Main Activities:

To follow the nursery safeguarding procedure to ensure all children are kept safe, well and secure To contribute to a programme of activities that meet the individual needs and interests of children in your classroom in conjunction with other team members Ensure that you take care of all nursery equipment, especially items from your shared areas of responsibility and classroom. Report any damaged or lost items immediately to either the manager or TA supervisor To be flexible within working practices of the nursery. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake responsibilities that are not your duty Engage in good team working Attending out-of-working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, parents evening, fundraising events etc. Work alongside the Manager and staff team to ensure that the nursery's vision is fulfilled Read, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role as deemed appropriate by the Manager Record accidents and incidents as per our policy Look upon the nursery as a "whole" to consider where your skills can be best utilised. Be constantly aware of the individual needs of all children Ensure someone known and agreed by the nursery and parent collects the child To respect the confidentiality of all information received To complete daily room checks, looking for any risks or maintenance that needs reporting to the Manager To be creative and share ideas with your teacher and wider team
Specific childcare tasks:

Prepare and complete activities to suit each individual child's stage of development and interests Ensure that mealtimes are a time of pleasant social sharing Wash and change children as required Ensure good standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times Ensure a poorly child is treated appropriately, and management is notified immediately Contribute to a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children regardless of any disabilities, family backgrounds or medical history Be aware of the nursery's community profile and uphold its standards, both within work hours and outside.
