Job Description

Position Title:



The Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences is seeking a highly motivated individual who has a BSc Biological Sciences and a MSc degree in Genetics. The successful candidate is expected to excel in teaching in the practical sessions of courses related to Genetics, General Biology, and Human Biology. Successful candidates will be expected to participate in departmental committees and community services. The start date of the position is for Spring 2026.

Duties & Responsibilities:



1. Teach undergraduate course laboratories in the area of expertise such as General Biology, Genetics, and Cell Biology.
2. Contribute to various committees within and outside of the department.
3. Other responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Department.


Qualifications

Requirements:



1. Bachelor degree in Biology and Master degree in Genetics with expertise in an animal model system from a recognized university.
2. Submit evidence that the candidate obtained his/her degree from a program, which operates on a full-time system.
3. Submit evidence showing that the candidate has obtained a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.5 out of 4, or its equivalent according to Qatar University standards.
4. A minimum teaching experience of the practical parts of General Biology, Genetics, and Cell Biology should be at the University level, and should be of no less than 2 years after completing the master's degree. It is preferable to submit published research after obtaining the master's thesis.
5. Proficient with the linguistic (written and oral communication in Arabic and English) and technical skills necessary for the job, and mastering the educational technologies used in the higher education sector.
6. Willingness to work with multidisciplinary teams.
7. Awareness of working with people from diverse backgrounds.
