Aldar Education are currently seeking an outstanding Teacher of Science (Biology, Chemistry or Physics) for the Middle and Senior School at Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing in the 2025-2026 academic year.
Mamoura British Academy is a British curriculum, mixed gender school until Year 9 and a girl's only Senior School. It is located in a state of the art building in the heart of Abu Dhabi. xc2xb7 Working cooperatively with curriculum support staff (where applicable) to support student development
xc2xb7 Acting as a form tutor and supporting the pastoral needs of students.
A. Teaching and Learning
xc2xb7 Clear understanding of the British curriculum
xc2xb7 Organising classroom provision, learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive and engaging learning environment
xc2xb7 Planning, preparing and presenting sessions that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the classes taught in line with the Learning and Teaching Policy
xc2xb7 Motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching
xc2xb7 Observing and assessing children in line with the Assessment Policy
xc2xb7 Being reflective of the classroom provision, sessions taught, progress made, and adjusting environment, planning and curriculum to reflect this
xc2xb7 Ensure the Mamoura British Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attributes are being embedded throughout the curriculum.
B. Assessment and Data
xc2xb7 Taking responsibility for the progress of classes taught
xc2xb7 Meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of students' development using the schools designated assessment system
xc2xb7 Using data provided by assessments to influence further planning, provision and intervention
xc2xb7 Be accountable to the Head of Department for the performance data of classes taught and to develop strategies to improve
xc2xb7 Providing feedback to parents and carers on a students' progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
C. Behaviour Management and Duties
xc2xb7 Follow Behaviour Policy
xc2xb7 Manage classes effectively, using approaches which are appropriate to students' needs to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
xc2xb7 Maintain excellent relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively when necessary within the school's Behaviour Policy
xc2xb7 Be a positive role model and demonstrate consistently the positive attitudes, values and behaviour, which are expected of pupils
xc2xb7 Have high expectations of behaviour, promoting self-control and independence of all learners
xc2xb7 Ensure the Mamoura Values DNA language and attitudes are being embedded throughout the curriculum
xc2xb7 Carry out duties as directed and within the school's policy.
D. Wider Professional Responsibilities
xc2xb7 To work as part of a department team, supporting planning, assessment, resources and special events linked to that team
xc2xb7 Support the organising and taking part in school events, outings and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
xc2xb7 Communicate effectively with parents/carers with regards to students' achievements and well-being using school systems/processes such as CPOMS as appropriate
xc2xb7 Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school
xc2xb7 Run a weekly ECA each term.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
xc2xb7 A Bachelor's degree in Education or a Bachelor Degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent.
Minimum Experience:
xc2xb7 Minimum 2 year's teaching experience in English National Curriculum
