Tax Accountant or Senior Tax Specialist
AED 20,000 - 27,000 (Depending upon experience)
Contract Role - 10 months
We're on the lookout for a tax-savvy professional who knows their way around compliance, loves a good process, and can bring clarity to complexity. If you're someone who enjoys collaborating across teams, keeping things ticking behind the scenes, and making tax less taxing, this could be the role for you.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing a variety of tax returns (withholding tax, VAT, corporate income tax) across several countries - UAE, KSA, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Lebanon
- Coordinating with both internal teams and outside contacts to make sure tax certificates get renewed on time
- Helping clients obtain the right tax documents and managing refund/credit requests with the tax authorities
- Assisting with the recovery of withheld funds from clients in Kuwait (don't worry, you'll have support)
- Guiding vendors - including our own affiliates - through the process of getting their tax certificates
- Reviewing vendor payments each week to make sure everything's above board
- Working with treasury to plan for tax payments and avoid any financial surprises
- Posting journals and keeping tax accounts in good shape
- Reconciling tax general ledger accounts monthly to keep the numbers spot-on
- Supporting tax-related systems projects - you'll work alongside external advisors and our internal teams on:
- e-invoicing rollouts in the Middle East
- SAP S/4HANA implementation
- VAT setup for countries where it's being introduced
- Helping the wider tax team with reports, projects, and adhoc tasks
- Getting involved in transformation and implementation initiatives
- Staying up-to-date on tax news and advising the team on best practices
- Covering for teammates when needed
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or something similar
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in tax and accounting
- A professional qualification like ACCA, CPA, or CA
- Big 4 experience is a bonus
- Solid experience working with SAP is a MUST
- Strong knowledge of e-invoicing regulations globally and in the Middle East
- Experience working in tax for a multinational, especially in the region
