Position: \xe2\x80\x9cTax Manager\xe2\x80\x9d- for a Leading Global Oil Company/ Lubricants MNC

Location: Business Bay, Dubai

Salary: Solely Based on experience and current pay, Plus Family Benefits ( Visa, Ticket, Insurance) and Annual Bonus

Position Objective:

We are looking for a proficient tax and accounting expert to oversee diverse tax operations and provide comprehensive tax services. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player, adept at steering the tax team toward heightened performance. He/she will be responsible for devising and implementing tax strategies while collaborating with accounting and leadership to identify process enhancements and potential risk areas. As a Tax Manager, your core duty involves overseeing specific tax functions alongside ensuring compliance-related tasks. The role demands vigilant monitoring of current and forthcoming tax regulations, necessitating timely policy and strategy adjustments. The ideal candidate demonstrates unwavering commitment to compliance, achieved through streamlined reporting procedures and empowering the tax team for effective operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Taxation
  • Accurately preparing and filing of Company tax returns promptly.
  • Developing tax strategies to ensure all the companies are tax compliant.
  • Identifying tax problems and developing solutions.
  • Completing responses and schedules for corporate tax assessment.
  • Compliance with Various Statutory Regulations - VAT, Customs, Corporate TAX
  • Submission of reports to Authorities - ESR, UBO, etc.
  • Continue monitoring the Transfer Price regulation and documentation for ensure compliance.
  • Monitoring developments in tax legislation.
  • Informing management and staff of developments in tax legislation.
  • Monitoring the correct allocation of the VAT by aligning with the business is allocating the VAT on the balance sheet line and not on the P&L.
  • Every month, retrieve the VAT report from the system and compare it to the original documents.
  • Monthly Reconciliation of Purchase Invoice with eligible VAT Input and Sales Invoice for VAT Liability as per Future VAT Audit/Assessment purposes.
  • Monthly reconciliation of custom duty outflow with Sales register/invoice.
  • Compilation of Monthly corporate Tax Liability for Global reporting.
  • Retrieve the input VAT from the authority by providing the legal requirements.
  • Quarterly reconciliation of VAT returns and books of accounts and pass necessary rectification entries post-approval.
Budgeting, Cost Control & MIS
  • Assist in formulating the year\xe2\x80\x99s corporate strategy and finalising annual targets with other functional heads to implement the strategic directions.
  • Coordinate setting up sales projections and purchase budgets based on projected sales for each vertical.
  • Coordinate operational, seasonal, and buying budgets with the various management teams, including financial projections and cash flow statements, and ensure they are prepared and finalised.
  • Analyse Actuals against budgets and Last year every month and discuss Variance and their correction action plan, if any.
  • Compile Various MIS reports for Business Improvement
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
  • Deliver set standards of MIS reports for various departments, ensure timely preparation and presentation of periodic MIS and interpret data to suggest ways of cost optimisation.
  • Ensure due compliance by financial control parameters accountable for the Internal Control System
  • Negotiate for Capex Investment and monitor capital expenditure.
  • Develop and mentor subordinates through career planning to move to the next higher job level.
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies, DOA and values.
  • Train and educate the team members about errors/new developments
Accounting and Audit
  • Ensure proper approval, authorization of all payments, accuracy, and timely recording of transactions.
  • Develop and maintain systems for prompt, accurate financial and accounting information collection.
  • Supervise accounting and ensure the accuracy of all transactions.
  • Ensure scrutiny and supplier accounts reconciliation.
  • Supervise timely and accurate internal audits and closure of monthly accounts after review of the ledger for accuracy.
  • Compile and Timely closure of statutory audit (BIG 4) without any observation
  • Implement controls and procedures for debtors\' invoices and monthly reconciliation.
  • Represent the Company in all financial matters before auditors, tax authorities, and other relevant parties.
  • Continue reviewing all possible business and operation Risks and design a mitigation plan.
  • Handle renewal of Insurance/ Trade Licenses / Lease Agreements / other agreement
  • Coordinate with the corporate legal team for any legal matter.
  • ERP and other automation to improve internal control or reduce manual work by the team.
  • Review the internal control under various processes and design control/process Improvement.
Basic Qualification / Education / Vocational Training: BA in Accounting or MA in Taxation
Advanced Qualification / Certification / Specialist Training: CA / CPA / CIMA / ACA / ACS / ACWA / MBA/ IFRS
Minimum Experience: 8 - 10 years of experience in Taxation, Finance and Operations
Specific / Relevant Experience: 4 -5 years of managerial experience in an independent Finance / Operations

Financial Skills & Capabilities:
  • Accounting theory (e.g., internal controls, financial statement preparation, accrual accounting)
  • Expert Knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax and Customs regulation.
  • Filling of ESR and UBO reports as per regulatory Requirements in UAE
  • Basic Accounting Tools or Financial tools (e.g., CAPEX)
  • Knowledge of ERP based Accounting Systems (SAP Preferred)
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting (IFRS Standards)
  • Financial Budgeting and Forecasting Techniques.
