The role

We are currently recruiting for a Tax Manager to join DLA Piper\xe2\x80\x99s global Tax Group, to be based in Dubai. The team works with multinational companies address the complex challenges of international commerce and business operations as well as manage and resolve tax disputes.

Our global Tax Group assists clients in structuring a wide range of transactions, from private equity deals to corporate acquisitions and disposals. We provide these international tax services while at the same time offering clients the benefits of the attorney-client and work-product privileges.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to draw upon the experience of colleagues in numerous areas of law, including intellectual property and technology, corporate and finance, real estate, employment and employee benefits.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Working as part of our highly regarded global tax team, candidates will enjoy a broad diet of work that will cover our core services including:
  • International tax and cross border planning
  • Corporate income tax advisory and planning
  • Private equity transactions
  • Mergers, acquisitions, demergers and floatations
  • Indirect taxes
  • Private client tax structuring
  • Tax litigation
ABOUT YOU
We do not set upper or lower limits of relevant working experience (or PQE) for any of our vacancies. We have however given an indicative years of relevant experience (or PQE) as an approximate guide for applicants. Candidates who have between 4 \xe2\x80\x93 6 years relevant working experience (or between 3 - 6 years\xe2\x80\x99 PQE) are likely to have the right level of knowledge and have gained the right level of experience needed to be able to undertake this role.
  • The ideal candidate should possess profound expertise in Corporate Income Tax (CIT), with a specific focus on international tax regulations within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Additionally, familiarity with the OECD-G20 Global Tax Reforms, including both Pillar 1 and Pillar 2, is highly desirable. While not mandatory, knowledge of other GCC tax regimes, such as Zakat, Value Added Tax (VAT), Customs, and Real Estate Transfer Tax (RETT), will be considered an asset.
  • Some experience in tax accounting matters will also be considered an asset. However, this qualification is not a prerequisite for the role.
  • Experience of leading on international transactions is preferable
