Job Description
We are engaged by a multi-disciplined Ship Brokerage and Fuel/Cargo Trading business in Dubai to hire an experienced operator who is comfortable running fixtures for Chemicals, Fuels and other wet Cargoes up to Suezmax in size.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Support the Specialist team to ensure uncomplicated voyages.
- Liaise with brokers / counterparties / owners / charterers with regards to operational matters on ships and / or cargo.
- Anticipating problems and finding solutions to optimise performance.
- Checking and monitoring Freight/Hire/Comm invoices and payments, liaising with Accounts.
- Time bar monitoring.
- Additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
- 3 years' minimum experience as a Tanker Operator
- Experienced and confident within Tanker Operations, preferably with exposure to Chemicals, Fuels and other wet cargoes.
- Superb problem-solving skills and find enjoyment in finding solutions
- A passion for the shipping markets/a good understanding of the ship brokerage world and how it functions
- Fluency in English (written and verbal) with a personable and professional communication manner
- Competence using spreadsheets, such as Excel.
- Strong commercial and operational focus with excellent communication skills.
- Unwavering attention to detail.
