Summary of the job: The Therapeutic Area Leader (TAL) challenges and presents the marketing plans for his/her Therapy Area (TA) and manages the execution of those plans and the functional capability underpinning them Duties & Responsibilities Assume the leadership of the NEMA TA, especially regarding definition and roll-out of the commercial approach Ensure alignment and consistency of approach between the different markets Assume accountability for the TA performance in the cluster, e.g. achieving the market share and Net Trade Sales targets defined in the Business Plan (BP) Lead the Mid-Term Planning process, including providing input into forecasting exercises, and support the PMs on the Business Planning process Lead the Core Value Teams (CVT), ensuring optimal collaboration between all functional areas, like marketing, sales, Regulatory Affairs and Business intelligence Maintain oversight of important and impactful marketing projects and activities proposed in the tactical plans Support launch readiness in the different markets for high priority products Track brand and marketing performance and intervene where necessary Coaching and involvement in Performance management of Product Managers- acting as functional manager Main performance measures (Performance Goals) Manage Mid-Term planning and support PMs on Business Planning process: Agree on sales forecasts for priority brands/markets with PMs, BUMs and Country Leads Work closely with PMs to create one coherent BP and MTP for the NEMA region Present consolidated NEMA BP and MTP to senior management Ensure effective roll-out of commercial plan across the cluster Identify current and future market trends, business opportunities and barriers to ensure an effective deployment of the commercial approach Develop strong capabilities in marketing and relevant TA to act as a knowledgeable resource across NEMA and share knowledge with the broader commercial teams Agree on and oversee marketing projects/activities proposed in the tactical plans, taking a more prominent role in critical and impactful activities (e.g. large congresses, government interactions, etc.) Convene and ensure the smooth operation of the CVT, ensuring that the different functions strive for the same objectives and that there is clarity on who is expected to do what Identify problems with marketing execution in consultation with NEMA leadership and fix or fill the gaps created by the problems Align with local Teams on sales team structure and time allocation Ensure strong performance of the commercial teams Support the PMs, including providing commercial and strategic direction, coaching and knowledge sharing In collaboration with BUMs and Country Leads, set KPIs and evaluate performance based on regular reports (e.g. Market Share, NPS, etc.) Ensure best-practices are being shared across teams Work together with BUMs and Country Leads to solve potential issues in the local brand teams Support PMs to launch high priority products Support development of launch readiness plans with CVT and PMs Follow-up on implementation with internal teams to ensure timely launch Spend ~10% of time on the ground interacting with local stakeholders to ensure that significant developments in the field are identified, understood and monitored Advise on allocation of roles and resources for TA Act as main liaison between IBVTs and the NEMA commercial team Experience Required A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required Advanced degree in business, marketing or life sciences preferred MBA is a plus At least 5 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical sales management or/and marketing Experience in Hematology, oncology or immunology is required Experience with marketing in Emerging Markets is a plus Experience in a cross country is a must Experience leading teams, experience with matrix organizations a plus Language: Fluent in English, French a plus Location: Beirut, Casablanca, Algiers Technical/Functional Skills Required Key strength in strategic and commercial thinking Ability to oversee development and execution of multichannel commercial strategies Experience in ensuring launch readiness of an organization Financial forecasting based on market access information Experience in building business plans Leadership Profile Required Strong team and leadership skills, including ability to coach and share knowledge with junior colleagues Strong working knowledge of the company structure and credo Good at taking up a leadership position in a multidimensional organization across functions and across geographies Ability to lead cross-functional teams without authority Leadership courage to make difficult decisions and recommendations when necessary Focus on
