Job Description
Measure clients using standard and custom measuring tools.
Cut, sew, and assemble garments according to specifications or patterns.
Alter, repair, or restyle existing clothing to improve fit, comfort, or style.
Hem garments and adjust sleeves, seams, zippers, linings, and waistbands.
Select and recommend appropriate fabrics, colors, and materials based on design and client preferences.
Lay out patterns and mark fabric according to measurements and design requirements.
Maintain knowledge of current fashion trends and tailoring techniques.
Collaborate with designers to create custom-made garments or uniforms.
Conduct fittings and consultations to discuss desired alterations or designs.
Provide expert advice on garment style, fit, and care.
Ensure client satisfaction by meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality workmanship.
Operate and maintain sewing machines, irons, cutting tools, and other tailoring equipment.
Keep the work area organized, clean, and safe.
Manage fabric inventory and order materials as needed.
Inspect finished garments for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications.
Make final adjustments to ensure garments meet the highest standards.
Maintain records of customer orders, measurements, and payments.
Price and invoice tailoring services.
Assist in managing shop schedules and appointments.
