Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and qualified

Swimming Coach

with AUSTSWIM certification to deliver high-quality swimming instruction and coaching. The successful candidate will work with swimmers of various ages and skill levels, from learn-to-swim participants to competitive athletes, promoting water safety, fitness, and technical skill development.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver structured swimming lessons and coaching sessions in line with swimmers' age and ability. Provide clear instruction on stroke technique, breathing, starts, turns, and race strategies. Monitor and assess swimmer progress, providing regular feedback and reports. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment for all participants. Supervise swimmers during lessons and ensure adherence to pool safety protocols. Support participation in swim meets, carnivals, and development events as required. Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and staff regarding progress and program goals. Ensure compliance with all relevant child safety and aquatic industry standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety

(compulsory). Additional AUSTSWIM qualifications are highly regarded (e.g., Teacher of Competitive Strokes, Infant & Preschool Aquatics, Adults, Access & Inclusion). Current

CPR

and

First Aid

certification.

Working with Children Check

(WWCC) - valid in the relevant state/territory. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in swimming instruction or coaching. Strong knowledge of swimming techniques and developmental training. Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills. Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and early mornings/evenings.
