Job Description
The Sustainability Manager will contribute to Arceras Sustainability strategy and initiatives within the ESG framework. This role will focus on developing, implementing, and monitoring various aspects of the Arcera Sustainability program, ensuring compliance with regulations, and assessing ESG risks across our operations and supply chain, with a focus on continuous improvement of Sustainability across the organization.

- Implement environmental sustainability initiatives aligned with the companys Sustainability policy & strategy, such as:
- Reduction of carbon emissions (Scope 1, 2 & 3),
- Reduction of energy consumption,
- Reduction of water usage,
- Reduction of waste generation across operations.
- Manage compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., CSRD, GRI).
- Conduct ESG due diligence and third-party assessments, with the aim of ensuring suppliers, partners, and contractors meet sustainability and regulatory requirements.
- Lead ESG audits and monitoring exercises across supply chains, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, H&S) to embed sustainable practices into business processes, and provide support to cross-functional teams that are driving sustainable business practices.
- Monitor and report Sustainability KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and innovation.
- Engage with with both internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and regulators, to drive sustainability initiatives.
- Stay up to date with emerging ESG trends, risks, opportunities, and best practices to enhance the companys Sustainability performance.
- Support the development of Sustainability communications and reporting
- Sustainability Experience: On-the-job experience in environment & sustainability, preferably in pharmaceutical or chemical industry, including resource efficiency, circular economy and/or decarbonization.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of sustainability and environmental regulations and requirements, including ESG frameworks and sustainability reporting requirements.
- Stakeholder Management: Strong skills in engaging and collaborating with various stakeholders, including employees, regulators, customers, business partners, and the community.
- Risk Management: Expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating environmental risks.
- Audit and Third Party Due Diligence: experience in conducting due diligence and/or third party audits.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Proficiency in tracking metrics, analyzing data, and reporting on performance to stakeholders.
- Innovation and Problem-Solving: Creative thinking to develop innovative solutions and continuously improve practices.
- University degree in engineering, EHS, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or similar educational level.
- Professional training in Sustainability preferred.
- Minimum 2 years Sustainability experience, preferably in Pharma.
- Excellent English language ability.
- Other language skills a plus.
