Large UAE-based consultancy firm specializing in providing cost-effective solutions to reduce ecological footprint of our built environment is looking for Carbon Accounting Specialist in its Business unit in UAE- Abu Dhabi as per the following details: Job description:
- We are looking for a GHG Specialist with a hands-on, experience in areas of carbon/ GHG accounting and strategic planning for net zero pathways & emission reduction strategies.
- The ideal applicant must demonstrate knowledge in establishing GHG inventory baselines and transition plans for net zero targets through strategic roadmaps.
- Demonstrate knowledge/experience in Greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) accounting (Scopes 1,2, and 3).
- Hands-on experience in undertaking calculation & verification of Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) for companies and corporates working in different sectors.
- Support clients in developing their net zero planning, and implementing emissions reduction strategies
- Reasonable understanding of the global reporting and disclosure standards including CDP, The GHG Protocol, and SBTi
- Experience using ISO 14040/44 standards, and foot printing methodologies.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for direct and indirect emission reductions including progress toward Net Zero goals or Science Based Targets.
- Reasonable understanding and knowledge of the circular economy schemes and waste reduction strategies through circular waste planning.
- Bachelor\'s degree in engineering field, Sustainability, Environmental science, or related.
- Experience not less than 3-5 years of experience working in area of GHG inventories.
- Lead Auditor ISO 14040/44.
- Robust understanding of relevant standards including the GHG Protocol and SBTi.
- Green building certification including LEED AP, BREEAM, or equivalent.
- GRI certification is a plus.
