Job Title: Supply Chain Delivery Director Grade: GG15 Location: Riyadh

JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is committed to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda including Saudisation and the training and development of Saudi National capability through the growth of the Saudi National Partner Companies thereby reinforcing Industrialisation and Partnerships. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Saudi Maintenance and Supply Chain Management Company (SMSCMC), a BAE Systems majority owned joint venture Company. The successful individual will be working for a company at the forefront of BAE Systems' commitment to industrialise the supply chain in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Working across the SMSCMC Functions and Project Teams will offer a challenging and rewarding opportunity to contribute to the development and growth of SMSCMC in KSA. Reporting into the CEO, the Supply Chain Delivery Director holds primary responsibility for leading and managing all supply chain bid, operational and project activities and interfaces between SMSCMC and the Customer and supplier communities. This will include strategic planning, budgeting, direction, organisation, management and delivery of all elements of the Programme including negotiating with customers and internal & external vendors. In addition, the incumbent will advise the CEO, and other members of the management team as necessary, across the entire range of the Company's supply chain activities. To do so successfully, the incumbent will be expected to draw upon extensive previous and current military supply chain experience. In this capacity, the incumbent will be expected to join and support the CEO, as required, at meetings and briefings with the Customer and supplier community. Based in Riyadh, the Supply Chain Delivery Director will lead and deliver his responsibilities throughout Saudi Arabia and beyond including UK and Europe. To do so most successfully he/she will likely come from a military supply chain background and possess excellent leadership skills/behaviours. Given the nature of SMSCMC's business the Supply Chain Delivery Director will possess extensive and contemporary, global supply chain experience including customer and vendor contracting and management, logistics, warehousing and inventory management. Key to this position is the requirement to establish and develop the supply chain team ensuring it has the skills, capabilities, competencies, experience and passion required. SMSCMC is a Saudi registered joint venture company created to support the ongoing development of supply chain capability within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the job-holder must be committed to providing opportunities for Saudi nationals whenever appropriate. A critical element of the role will be the effective implementation and maintenance of a supply chain excellence culture within the company which focuses on Customer needs to deliver business to the highest standards and thereby support the pursuit and capture of new business opportunities. The Supply Chain Delivery Director will sit on the SMSCMC Management Committee (CEO direct reports) and will have additional responsibility for developing and enacting the agreed company strategy as part of a cohesive and supportive management team.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Effective development, leadership and implementation of a supply chain programme strategy which enables the business to:

· Lead a multi-functional IPT to deliver the supply chain activities for the programme across multiple locations (Riyadh, Ta'if, and UK)

· Deliver shareholder value and financial salient across a portfolio

· Deliver the contract key performance measures to deliver aircraft availability requirements. Key measures are as follows: Non Mission Capable Supply (NMCS), Off the Shelf Satisfaction Rate (OTSSR), Repair Turn Around Times, Inventory health, asset availability and Schedule Adherence

· Deliver safe and sustainable operations at all locations and embed exemplary safety culture

· Deliver the company strategy and underlying objectives thereby satisfying customer and financial performance targets

· Deliver saudisation targets in line with the contract requirements

· Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and measurement criteria necessary to drive a consistent, disciplined and controlled approach to project delivery

· Deliver a value for money and a compelling bid for the additional 54 Typhoon aircraft and supply chain requirements

· Deliver SMSCMC strategy related to the Supply chain programme

· Demonstrate strong leadership and partnering across all stakeholder group. RSAF Project Office, RSAF headquarters, BAESSA prime contracting office, On base Senior Leadership team, SMSCMC Management Committee, and Eurofighter Board representatives.

· Exhibit a 'one team' approach to maximise the collective output from the enterprise · Deliver all the Lifecycle Management requirements for the portfolio and demonstrate exemplary control of the project management baseline · Coordinate the input from and integrate supporting functions (Commercial and Procurement, Engineering, Finance, Governance, Business Winning etc) ensuring project activities are appropriately resourced at all times; · Ensure effective communication of supply chain activities across the business and stakeholder community. · The job holder may be required to represent the Company, alone or in conjunction with the CEO/other members of the senior management team as required, on Ministry of Defence matters relating to the programmes of SMSCMC. Experience of participating in senior forums will be advantageous. · Responsible for providing independent subject matter expertise on military supply chain related matters.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Essential:

· SMSCMC is a multi-cultural organisation comprising circa 450 personnel split between Saudi Arabian nationals and expatriate employees. Experience of and/or a commitment to working in such an environment is essential; · An entrepreneurial and strategic thinker comfortable working with complexity, ambiguity, tension and flexible boundaries; · An extensive and broad knowledge of supply chain management in the defence and/or commercial sector; · An excellent understanding of the Ministry of Defence, the Armed Forces and other key stakeholders, within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and methods of operation including budgeting and procurement approaches; · Experienced in the planning and implementation of large complex projects involving multiple stakeholders; · The job holder will be expected to be pragmatic and flexible in their approach to both management of people and the role. Must be comfortable working across boundaries often found in larger organisations; · Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills required including the ability to motivate and inspire others at varying levels; · Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with internal teams, customers, vendors and shareholders. In particular, the ability to process significant volumes of information and distil and convey key messages in a compelling, user-friendly form. This will include periodic presentations to senior stakeholders; · A commitment to meeting external and internal customer expectations. Excellent behaviours under pressure and a track record of delivering consistently high quality output on time; · A commitment to the development and support of others. A recognition and acceptance of the need to develop sustainable, indigenous Saudi national capability in the supply chain. Tolerance and respect for other cultures; · Initiative and self-motivation are critical characteristics for the role. The job-holder must be able to handle and respond positively to constructive challenge. As a Management Committee member the job holder will be expected to set a performance and behavioural example to others. Desirable: · Experience of working within a senior management environment and leading a team is desirable. As a member of the SMSCMC management committee the job-holder will be expected to actively contribute to the wider management and direction of the business; · Working within a joint venture environment, particularly featuring significant local and international shareholders; · Familiarity/comfort with corporate governance and the application of management tools, processes and controls; · An awareness of and willingness to apply Project Management tools and techniques; · Proven capability in managing customers and other programme stakeholders.
